yo guys did u know that the beat switch in nights by frank ocean is exactly half way thru the album playtime 🤯 i thinkt that is enough to make it best beat switch in recent history tbh!
They need to start doing them more like The Weeknd used to, where it’s not just a brand new song but a variation of what we heard previously
Love beat switches tbh
Works better on some tracks but I can appreciate when it’s well executed
People’s attention spans are not what it used to be and can get bored real quickly with a song with the beat being a part of that. It’s needed especially right now.
Off topic but some people can’t even pay attention to a movie with an hour and thirty minute run time

In the album “A Fever You Cant Sweat Out”, the first 6 songs are all dancey, electronic rock songs before there’s an ‘Intermission’ song where they apologize for the lack of dance music and they make up for it by some dude playing like an old timey piano
Then the rest of the album from then out is all baroque style rock with all live instrumentation, it’s super awesome thematically IMO
Drake really the king of beat switches man, he got incredible amount of classics w beat switches. I do agree that the ones on FATD were bad tho.

the Weekend himself needs to go back to doing them. He did it one time in the last 5 years on the After Hours title track and its easily his best song of that period.

Looks like the crucification is mainly cause of the term mini-playlist
i still think for songs like Sicko Mode & Life Is Good, mini-playlist is a great term

The first half of the album represents the ‘day’, and the second half represents the ‘night’…. Crazy!!!!!

Hahaha I'm with you for certain tracks. I think sicko mode is damn near the closest thing to having a hidden track I've heard in years too
