the beat switches on travis scott songs don't sound forced but when drake does his 10th song with a tay keith beat tacked on the end of an otherwise fine song it grinds my f***ing gears
🤔 can’t argue with that
what did people used to call it when there were two clearly separate songs as one track on an album? like Cameras / Good Ones Go from Take Care
those two songs at least go together very well and are like side a side b of a great song
i have been yelling this s*** from the rooftops since the day the album dropped lmao
The first part of the beat is so amazing & it barely has any time to stay
i love beat switches as a concept but they definitely are forced and corny more and more these days (when it comes to mainstream artists)

yea they go together very well & should be played together, but they’re still two clearly separate songs
that’s why i like the term “mini-playlist” but i know people don’t agree with me
at least Drake labeled the track as two songs tbf
Kings Dead was the most frustrating instance of this man I wanted to hear Kendrick on that beat so bad.
Same with flow switching. Erratically switching it just for the sake of doing it is more jarring to me than anything and makes you seem unconfident in your actual lines. I never understood why people raved over this so hard.
bro im one of the biggest the-dream stans on the face of the earth. the way he transitioned his songs on lovehate influenced my music soooo much lol. i had all these indie producers who had never listened to him using it as a reference for my s***
Bro fr. Now I gotta go back and peep your music with this in mind haha.

you did, he wrote it
jay z used to end his albums with hidden tracks was so amazing i used to love seeking thru tracks on a CD player
What are some albums he did this on

vol3 and blueprint. on streaming they’re separated but originally they were all one track with like 30 seconds of silence between them
Hip Hop should take a page out of Metal's handbook. Heavy metal has the best transitions because they're seamless
Take one by metallica for example.
