I just honestly think these threads are futile about Mr. Morale when Kendrick will drop his next album in 2024 and people will be s***ting on that one and talking about how great this one was.
It’s the cycle of a Kendrick album since TPAB.
So you never go through phases of not listening to an album you like?
If you were quoting me I deleted my post for a reason.
Now, I listen to ALOT of new music, as my favorite Artists release new music of course that’s going into “rotation” and I’ll see where it lays next to the previous music they’ve released.
With that being said I’ve been listening to the same albums for 15-10 years now 💀
No but I would never call them hard to listen to. Given your example it’s understandable if it’s tied to trauma or memories or something!
Oh yeah thats fair then but just saying u dont like an album because it isnt in ur rotation is OD imo

Yea same I got a lot of albums that are definitely gonna get play every few months at bare minimum but i go through phases
I’m done arguing about the album because I realize that I have a personal attachement to it because I can relate to it very heavy. This is one of those albums that I HAVE to listen to in full and not play casually aside from a few songs. It’s a personal masterpiece to me and my favorite Kendrick album

Also this.
there are so so so many albums that i love that i haven’t listened 2 in 4ever
It’s a weird arguement to me because while there are 5-10 albums I’ll revisit every now and then, for the most part I don’t really listen to albums all the way through after 3-4 listens. I’m more of a playlist guy.
Does that mean I dislike those albums? No ofc not.

I think I probably worded it in the wrong way. I guess it varies person to person. MM is a good listen for me. I enjoy it. I just don’t understand people talking about music being overly complicated that you physically can’t listen to it (?) because I’ve never personally felt that way. Didn’t mean any ill will fam

Nah for sure, I understand what you’re saying now and can agree unless the person can’t listen due to trauma or something which seems to be the case for some people w Morale
Never played the album in full again since it’s release 😭
ur loss
I love how OP can post a Justin Hunte video and not be locked but when I did it, it was locked almost immediately without anyone, including the mods, watching a second of the video.
ur loss
Super heavy and in the mood kind of listen, nowadays I work therefore most of my mental energy gets drained at end of the day and won’t have desire to play the album
I still give Kendrick an A for effort though 🤷♂️
On a slow KTT2 day this thread would go crazy but Youngboy overshadowed everything.
What happened with YB?
I listened to a lot of music and albums. Its impossible to keep all that music in constant rotation. But the difference with MMBS for me is that it came out a couple months ago from someone in my top 5 and I barely listen to songs off it.
Like said in the video, this is something that hasn't happened to me with any other kendrick album before.
He said he can rap better then Jay-Z.
I mean in 2022 that’s a no brainer

But that’s you and one other dude. That isn’t a grand statement about the album in general. It grew off of you? That’s fine. Honestly Nevermind grew off of me. That doesn’t mean that my singular opinion is correct or an overall statement on the album. It’s just opinions.
Maybe the next Kendrick album will be one more for your taste.

No one said this is some grand statement and never did I say my opinion is more valid than anyone else. Which is why I said "for me"
