a producer way different to a beatmaker. i remember jamie foxx talking about how he was over singing the hook for slow jamz and kanye told him how to sing it. also kanye providing the hook and basically bare bone structure for lucifer for jay z. that’s what a producer is.
Well yeah i’d say its two different classes of people. Musicians vs. Artists

there's much more than musicality involved in being a true producer, whereas if you're a beatmaker that's all that really matters. producers are also curators and arrangers and creators of a visual/listening experience. there's a lot of mf's who just be putting drums on a lead melody
“He produces?”
“He produces, Jerry.”
“So he’s a producer?”
“A producer. I can’t compete with a producer.”

These are all mine. But feel free to s*** cuz I hate loops
I just always hated when people used a sample and didn’t change anything about it. Like Harry fraud 😡 all he does is steal the sample LOOP it and slap some basic ass 808 drum patterns over it
I feel like looping is just that but the sample is someone else’s melody it’s weird like idk

I was watching the drink champs intro and thought bout this lol
It's as corny as rappers who say "I'm not a rapper, I'm an artist!" or "I'm not a rapper, I'm a rockstar!". Like I understand what the sentiment is with saying that s***, but the way they say it is as if there's some sort of shame in making beats or rapping. It just comes off more corny than profound. Why you dunking on the culture/craft?
