It’s been an ongoing thing since back in January tho. Voters may have heard behind the scenes and it could affect its chances in original screenplay category

Also the Luca writer has multiple produced screenplays under his name while this the Holdover’s first.

The original screenplay in question is called Frisco and made the blacklist back in 2013. If I can find it I’m gonna check it out to compare

Lots of people online are saying the structure/scripts are actually very different with very little overlap. Can't confirm myself, but I expected more of a fuss and it's not getting that.

I’ve started Frisco myself but I’m only 7 pages in. I’ll update once I’ve finished.

I hope it’s overblown. I’m part of a writing group that was setting up a zoom call with the writer of Holdovers. I’m only a bit worried cause the writer complaining has multiple produced scripts and has been in the WGA for 20 years. He states he knows no idea is original but this case is too similar
