I don't know where the narrative started that homeboy's a great interviewer came from. Them pull ups be yawn fests.

The only ones that was decent was Crooked I and Vince, and that was only because of THEM. And I still don't know why he aint dropped the former one in full.

he could've also started a youtube page with a compilation of all his awful sports takes from the pod and im sure one of them could've went viral

    but he didnt.

He was completely satisfied doing the bare minimum until he realized hes not a boss, has no ownership, or say on boss s***.

    You are an EMPLOYEE.

Mal showed up late to every Pod. Joe gave him a pass.

Mal barely says anything and is on his phone 24/7. Joe gave him a pass.
Mal gets show ideas pitched to him to grow his brand and does nothing with it. Joe keeps it moving.

Mal gets a raise when they have no deals. Joe suffers and hooks the guys up with more bread while taking less.

Mal sees what Joe is trying to build and doesn't help his "friend" with the work behind the scenes and claims he doesn't love podcasting while it pays his bills. Joe gets a Patreon deal and brings in monthly revenue.

Mal refuses to show up for a single Patreon episode. Joe lets that slide.

Mal hears there may be more money and sides with Raury. Joe is confused and tells him to stay out of the business.

Mal then takes a break, thinking he has leverage. Joe reminds Mal that he slept on his couch for a decade, and he was an employee with a contract.

Mal complains that Joe tried to replace him while he abandoned the Pod. Joe reminds Mal that he was someone else's replacement once too.

Mal goes on strike again. Joe shows him the unemployment line.
Mal is the dumbest nigga on the planet and a glorified entourage member.

Joe was looking out for him the entire time. At what point do you realize someone is taking and taking and not giving anything. You've got to cut the dead weight off no matter how much it may hurt you.

    facts.

I think one of the reasons Joe is going so hard at Rory specifically is bc Rory has to know s*** like this. Mal, I can see not being aware, bc Idk if he’s ever had a real job, but Rory, working in marketing and whatnot, he had to know this s***. I think Joe looks at Mal as ignorant and he looks at Rory like he really tried to use friendship to finesse him.

    more facts

and that's how you know AK really got to him.

Using friendship to try to get Joe not to f*** with AK was super lame from Rory. That's like saying you can't make bread with this individual.

They use friendship when it's convenient for them while not understanding business.

Joe has no problems with AK and has had a lucrative show with him. Why would he take a side with something that has nothing to do with him? And Rory and Mal started that whole beef.

When AK called him a worker, it really bothered him because he realized he was not a boss forreal but an EMPLOYEE

tbh I was disappointed in Joe when he brought them back. just from a business perspective didn’t make sense lol

That was a chess move. It showed Joe that the fans already moved on. Those guys didnt perform. The mojo was off.

Don’t do that lol, Mal and Rory gave us classic moments and takes.

but they can only pull it off with joe around. joe is the ignition. those guys have nothing substantial to offer if joe's not around. mal is not meant for this media or podcast s***. he only joined cause of joe. he wouldn't be on other pods as a guest if it wasn't for joe. i personally don't care what he has to say if joe's not around, and im sure im not alone on that

The problems have been building for months if not years. I would guess things started behind the scenes after the Spotify deal.

You can see tension between Rory and Joe building for months on the pod.

Episode 423 - The Sources is the last pod before Rory and Mal went on strike.

He brought his friends Ice and Ish on the next pod episode 424 - The Nine and said Rory and Mal went on vacation.

Later on episode 425 - Tea Leaves , Joe reveals hes been having issues with his cohosts and that they are not really on vacation. He doesnt know when they will be coming back.

The viewers start to get use to Ice and Ish.

Rory and Mal spend a month off the pod and returned on episode 435 - Shaking the Tree. They give their POV and address the issue.

They do another podcast episode 436 - The Floor is Yours but you can see Mal still upset and not participating. Rory was podding like his life depended on it.

The JBP go on vacation. When they returned for episode 437- You Want It One Way (released to the public but became a Patreon exclusive), Rory and Mal don't show up. Joe is enraged and airs them out. Eventually fires both of them later on the pod.

Episode 438 - Clearing the Air (another Patreon exclusive) was released today, which was the aftermath of episode 437. We get some of Savon's opinion and more insight.

You’re the man. Final question, who’s in the right and who’s in the wrong? Anyone at all?

No they aren’t. State of the culture and the others shows on his network are all trash.

His biggest asset was the JBP which Mal and Rory brought a lot of value to.

Joe tried to build a network off the success of the JBP and didn’t want to cut them in on it but then get mad when they don’t perform the way he wants lol.

Rory had the most viewed episode on the other shows on his network.

Joe is a spin master. Rory and Mal barely said anything outside of the pod. Joe just using them leaving as a way to create more content.

State of the Culture wasnt that good but I would deem it as successful. It was one of the most popping shows from Revolt.

Rory and Mal brought alot value but they are employees.

You could've been one of the first employees at your local McDonalds and brought value as a worker but when you signed that contract, you agreed to be an employee. You can't go to your boss or the owner of that McDonalds and say you want equity now.

Rory literally went on one of Joe's shows and says he doesn't give a fck abou creating a podcasting network

why would Joe give him ownership???? Right then and there Joe realized they werent on the same page.

Rory got a raise (allegedly) and still wasn't happy because his life was spiraling out of control and he realized he was an EMPLOYEE.

People saw him in a depressed state and saw the podcast was declining. Talking about fighting Joe every pod. Theres not much to spin. We do need to hear their side tho.

Again Rory and Mal signed their contract as employees and put no bread up. They should be treated as such.
