Jun 20, 2020m02stpHey guys. I just told my girlfriend (who is “of color” and supports the LGBTQ community) the plot of this game and the fact that they made the main characters trans and lesbian, and she nearly threw up in her mouth she was so disgusted.
Now don’t get it twisted, she wasn’t disgusted about anyone being trans/lesbian, but more so the fact that this company had a responsibility to give the level of art and craftsmanship that the OG delivered, and they instead took the coward’s way out and pandered to these political movements.
I tried assuring her that there are people on this forum that have played it and vow that it’s not agenda-driven, but she says that, given the timing of everything, it just seems a little hard to believe, and tbh it’s difficult to disagree.
SO, now that 24 hours have gone by and you’ve been able to traverse through more of the game, be honest with us, and more importantly yourselves:

HumbleIf you're referring to my post, ofc I don't mean everyone that dislikes it is an loser lol, I'm talking about a specific part of the fandom that goes OD with their hate and takes it out on the creators/developers.

Nah, I'm talking about Neil and tons of other people widespread.
It's very similar to The Last Jedi, Doctor Who, or Metroid: Other M, where if you dislike the choices they've made you're "misogynistic" rather than having any decent points. Studios have been using this defense to dodge criticism for years.

Man I just know for a fact that if this game didn’t leak, opinions would be way different than they are right now. So many people formulated their opinions based off the leaks and honestly there was just no coming back from that.
