RCLampMan I just know for a fact that if this game didn’t leak, opinions would be way different than they are right now. So many people formulated their opinions based off the leaks and honestly there was just no coming back from that.
This true but a lot would still be here once they found out some certain aspects

m02stpHey guys. I just told my girlfriend (who is “of color” and supports the LGBTQ community) the plot of this game and the fact that they made the main characters trans and lesbian, and she nearly threw up in her mouth she was so disgusted.
Now don’t get it twisted, she wasn’t disgusted about anyone being trans/lesbian, but more so the fact that this company had a responsibility to give the level of art and craftsmanship that the OG delivered, and they instead took the coward’s way out and pandered to these political movements.
I tried assuring her that there are people on this forum that have played it and vow that it’s not agenda-driven, but she says that, given the timing of everything, it just seems a little hard to believe, and tbh it’s difficult to disagree.
SO, now that 24 hours have gone by and you’ve been able to traverse through more of the game, be honest with us, and more importantly yourselves:

euphoricthe reason I bring up the cure is bc even through all the f***ed up s*** in the first game, what keeps it going is that small sliver of hope for humanity. in comparison this game just feels bleak, hopeless and directionless especially w the ending...
so wouldn’t the first game also be “bleak, hopeless and directionless” because it supposedly wiped out any hope for a cure at the end

the first game leaves it up to your interpretation just as this one does, neither of these stories are cut and drylike I said just don’t see how it would benefit from revisiting that plot point right now
if anything it would take away from the impact of the first game’s ending if the they would immediately backtrack and say “no wait there actually is another way to get a cure”

idk, to me the game's intro felt like they were trying to vilify him. even tommy was startled and possibly even started to look at him in a different light. it's obvious they're trying justify abby's actions by making you look at both perspectives. I get it, violence begets violence but the execution is not the best.
Why Joel is sort of a villain is because he stopped the world from having a cure for a disease that caused the apocalypse... How does that not make sense? Wait are the nerdy gamers pissed because it showed Joel as a villain? LOOOOOL every person in this damn game is a villain hahahah they kill without thinking and only care for themselves. The main character isn’t trans, that was just something snowflakes got triggered about because the woman has muscles.
And Ellie was gay over 8 years ago, it was referenced in TLOU1 side content
So you’re wrong on both parts... no trans main character, and the other character was gay 8 years ago, so it couldn’t have been “given the timing of everything” like your friend supposedly said
