ok, so you're telling me you're gonna let a daughter-like figure who has become your only ounce of happiness in a bleak, s***ty world die for a just a "chance" to save humanity? as if, we'd all do it too and it doesn't mean we're villains. it's a completely moral grey area in that world, everybody is a piece of s*** so karma doesn't make sense to focus on. violence begets violent wow so deep thanks druckmann 10/10
Again... I literally said that he's not a villain, in any case an anti-hero, but you need to go past the label.
If we happen to agree with his actions it doesn't mean that his actions aren't morally reprehensible, this is why it gets way more closer of "vilifying" him in the final act of the first game than in this one.
crazy how this thread is 90% people being discussing the story and like 10% gameplay
Calm down nerd. The Fireflies are manipulative b****es and even if they did manage to scrape a cure from Ellie's brain the world was f***ed already. Will never not disagree with Joel killing all those idiots.

Get some p****
Im starting to get the vibe that you think of woman or people that you supposedly care about as property if you don't have the brain processing ability to see how Joel is a bad guy in the situation.
What about what Ellie wanted??? Wtf
I’m just talking about why Joel did it, I’m not talking about whether it was right or wrong in the eyes of Ellie lol
Yes it’s wrong, but he did it because he was wronged. He had no choice when his daughters life was taken
Joel is really the victim here tbh, he was traumatized by the loss of his daughter so he became attached to Ellie. Then after working his ass off they’re like “well she has to die”. But that was never part of the deal. He worked his ass to get her there but y’all never said she had to die, so, he rescinded

You replied to my post originally that was about Joel being the villain for taking away Ellie choice
Not the other way around, so if your not talking about “whether it was right or wrong in the eyes of Ellie” you should of never quoted me “lol”

But as the audience we played as Joel and saw the trauma he went through. He was wronged when the government killed his daughter
Ellie will probably never understand why he did what he did

The story makes the game.
Crazy how TLOU2 major spoiler I’m abby right now and I’m finding her side of the story very interesting and intriguing and I’m not outraged wtf. I was told I’d be mad 😡😡
The story makes the game.
Exactly.
What's there to talk about the gameplay? Just stealth kill 500 times, walk around and move some items like a dumpster or some debris to get to the next part.

And his choices lead him to where he ends up in this game

yeah but I wanted Joel to live, I don’t interpret him as the villain of the piece. I just disagree with how you see it, I guess

This whole conversation started because someone said that ND intention was to make Joel look like the bad guy in part II. I ask you, in which of both games do you think that Joel's actions are closer to vilifying him?

see I disagree, imo the intro to this game is pretty damning. did the first game have anything as grim and indicative to put joel in a bad light as the intro in this game? imagine not playing the first game, you'd probably think joel was the damn villain and that's the purpose, to justify what happens later on.
serious question, why would people have a problem with a trans main character?
serious question, why would people have a problem with a trans main character?
trump just undid Obama era protections on trans peoples health care
So you can be there’s at least some antitrans sentiment raging in this country
On the other hand, Theres a lot more support then there used to be
Except it isnt. At all. It just isn't to your liking
Hope you get to experiencing more story-driven art (movies, TV, games, etc.) soon.

Cause they secretly wanna bang Abby and they think that makes them gay
