Why Joel is sort of a villain is because he stopped the world from having a cure for a disease that caused the apocalypse... How does that not make sense? Wait are the nerdy gamers pissed because it showed Joel as a villain? LOOOOOL every person in this damn game is a villain hahahah they kill without thinking and only care for themselves. What do you call that? Is Joel supposed to be Captain America?

lol, you're really going at anybody that has an opposing opinion on this game and it's hilarious to me. if you'd opened your tunnel visioned eyes for once and read my other post, I explained the fireflies were batshit crazy and there was only a chance killing her would bring a cure, not a certainty, as proven in notes for the first game.

The main character isn’t trans, that was just something snowflakes got triggered about because the woman has muscles.

And Ellie was gay over 8 years ago, it was referenced in TLOU1 side content

So you’re wrong on both parts... no trans main character, and the other character was gay 8 years ago, so it couldn’t have been “given the timing of everything” like your friend supposedly said

    Nice try though

Pretty sure he's lying and just made that story up. His girlfriend is a female character in a video game

I wasn't saying that to you specifically. I ready the posts about Joel being Villified. Decided to rant lol

When Joel shot Marlene in the head even when she was begging for her life, did you see that as a "badass" moment?

no I see that as a "if I keep this b**** alive she's gonna do everything in her will to hunt me down and kill me" moment, aka a human moment and decision. nothing badass about it.

Right, because the point of both part one and two is just a little more nuanced than just hero/villain; and for the villifying Joel thing it gets way, way more closer to that in the final act of part one than in this one.

    F*** Marlene

She wouldn’t have gotten Ellie if it wasn’t for Joel working his ass off to get her there

then she took Ellie away and said we got no choice she gotta die

Fireflies dumb as f*** anyways, they probably wouldn’t have even made a cure lmao.

  • Jun 20, 2020

Also did no one on the writing team think about how if you kill Ellie she can’t produce anymore antibodies so you can’t do tests regarding the creation of any kind of cure. It’s like a 14 year old who didn’t pay attention in bio wrote the ending to pt.1

This is not my point tho. I understand why he shot her, that doesn't mean that what he does in that hospital is less fcked up, less "vilifying" than whatever he does in part II.

Are you just turning a blind eye to the fact that Ellie was willing to die for the possibility of a cure no matter if it succeed, she wanted the pain & hell that she went through to mean something.

Joel took that choice from her and boldly lied to her face when she clearly doubted that info...

This is also on top of Joel admitting earlier in the game to being a hunter in the past and killing innocent people in cold blood.

Let me guess, you watched breaking bad & the sopranos and think Walter White and Tony are the good guys.

ok, so you're telling me you're gonna let a daughter-like figure who has become your only ounce of happiness in a bleak, s***ty world die for a just a "chance" to save humanity? as if, we'd all do it too and it doesn't mean we're villains. it's a completely moral grey area in that world, everybody is a piece of s*** so karma doesn't make sense to focus on. violence begets violent wow so deep thanks druckmann 10/10

what would the cure even f***ing do anyways

The cure is useless in the world they created in this universe. Sure if you got bit you’d survive, but these zombies are not just biting you they basically tear you apart and there’s no cure for that

Joel couldn’t let go of her because he loved her you idiot.

He can’t lose another because someone took his daughter from him and he had no choice in the matter

Dude, they don’t want to read your posts unfortunately. These 14 year old kids are out here with Nd’s d*** bulging at their throats.

And rather than discuss civilly, they attack and try to play the blame game or assassinate your character without any context. I swear, they can run Trump’s twitter handle without him knowing,

You are missing the point, that he literally took Ellie’s choice away and lied about.

And he clearly knew it was wrong because he lied about it. Why do you think Joel didnt tell her “it would of killed you” dumbass.

Because Ellie was game for rolling the dice

    Turn your f***ing brain on

He was given no other choice by the fireflies

Ellie wouldn’t have even gotten there without Joel

Fireflies wouldn’t have gotten her without Joel

    They’re both indebted to him

When he arrived they took ellie from him and said she was had to die, just like when the soldiers took his daughters life and he had no choice

He had to lie to her to save her

Calm down nerd. The Fireflies are manipulative b****es and even if they did manage to scrape a cure from Ellie's brain the world was f***ed already. Will never not disagree with Joel killing all those idiots.

Im starting to get the vibe that you think of woman or people that you supposedly care about as property if you don't have the brain processing ability to see how Joel is a bad guy in the situation.

What about what Ellie wanted??? Wtf

right, even if everyone is cured, they still gonna get murdered by the millions of zombies all around the world
