Maybe after TLOU2, Ellie chose to live in solitude because she can't handle losing anyone else.

So now she is this broken 30-40 year old woman . So we get to see this completely different type of Ellie.
But we slowly get to see her redeem herself and find purpose

And the third is new IP

That’s been the rumor

If last of us 3 shows up 2025-2027 then every game tries to be it again

The game is about the world. Virtually every character in TLOU2 was different

It will have Ellie in it. Gotta make content for the tv show

After murdering about 400 more people she will redeem herself into a life of non violence

She gives up violence at the end of TLOU2 so nah

Also you don’t have to play through the game killing every single enemy. Hell theres gameplay where she avoids every single enemy

The whole purpose of her revenge conquest is that she’s not thinking clearly. She’s killing all these people and it’s only until the very end that it all catches up to her and she realizes that doing what she wanted to do will not bring her any resolution to everything she’s done prior but rather it will only make it worse.

Ultimately, in real life, people are complex. Don’t get mad at TLOU2 because it dares showcase that and portray a side of humanity that isn’t as clear cut as what you want in your regularly scheduled programming

Neil gonna have to go in to make it make sense to play as Ellie killing for now a 3rd game . Likely sprinkle in a joel flashback for joelers

they was already usin joel flashbacks to do that

if you aren't attached to joel or ellie, her whole side of the game is vengeance lashing and pathetic. Whole time you can tell she not even like that.

She killed a bunch of people due to her own trauma and grief from what she had witnessed. She set out on her mission of revenge.

And as can be seen at the end of the game, it’s not intended to be a happy ending for her. It showcases what her quest of destruction has truly caused for her in terms of loss and that what we see is only the beginning of the hardships she will have to endure for her choices. She came to terms and redeems Joel and herself by sparing Abby but who truly knows if she will always feel that way when she lost her one last connection to Joel via playing his guitar and all her loved ones.
