Like the ending to the last of us 1 but even more with 2 I can only truly fully respect them if they leave it and don't make another. To me Ellie doesn't need or deserve a 20-30 hour redemption story

It’s not really cope. A weakened Abby can do damage but she ain’t even wanna fight Ellie in part cuz she knew she wouldn’t win. Ellie would’ve killed her and stop acting like she didn’t spare her. She was seconds away from drowning because of Ellie forcing her head down.

The reason she spared Abby is because of that memory of Joel. She realized that she wanted to try to forgive Joel for killing a bunch of people to save her and now she has effectively done the same thing herself. She sees it as as both a way to forgive him and herself but she also finally sees killing Abby as self destruction on her part rather than the salvation she hoped it’d bring.

As for worse s*** happening to Ellie, sounds like everything bad that could’ve happened already has. She’s lost all her loved ones and the last thing she has to remember Joel by. That’s pretty cruel.

Hence why I think tlou3 will not be about Ellie as a main character. I expect she will be in it though but only in parts
