It’s been over 4 years and there are still people who spend hours in that subreddit every single day just to keep talking about how much they hate a game

Funny y'all bump this thread right after I just finished TLOU (Remastered) and TLOU Part 2 (Remastered) for the first time. Ended part 2 yesterday.

First game started out rough. The beginning was slow and not really my jam, but once I got through the initial stages, it took off and became very enjoyable.

Now, Part 2 on the other hand - OH BOY - that was just incredible from the beginning until the end. Much faster pace than the first game (which is exactly what I wanted), visually gorgeous areas and the gameplay was really satisfying. Introducing the very welcomed dodge mechanic in part 2 really made melee encounters feel like a boxing match.

I gave the first game a 7 out of 10, but the second game is near perfect. Part 2 (Remake) is overall a 10/10, or 9.5 if I want to be petty.

2020 really was the GOAT year for Sony fanboys

We got this and GOT literally back to back then there was all the hype surrounding the PS5.

I just beat Part 2 for the first time and kept hearing about "No Return" mode but couldn't for the life of me find it anywhere in my menus. Just found out that it's only on the TLOU Part 2 "Remastered" version for PS5 and the one I beat was apparently not the Remastered version as I initially thought, but I did play it on PS5 Oh well, game was lit so I'll upgrade to the PS5 Remastered version and perhaps replay it sometime or try out No Return. Since I already have the non-remastered version I only have to pay a few bucks for the upgrade.

Damn I didn’t know it was only on the remastered version if you like the combat it’s worth it. I tried replaying the story multiple times but it just drags when you’re just trying to get to the action, No Return throws you right into it. Not too much to unlock but it’s a fun barebones “rogue lite”

Man I love that this game has pre-installed gameplay mods in the options that can be unlocked Wanna replay the game with infinite ammo? Np. Want enemies to die in one shot? We got it. Want to play the game with a visual filter on? Sure mr Instagram.

Yup, I just downloaded the Remastered version and immediately got access to a bunch of new stuff, including the No Return mode. I think I'm gonna try out No Return, unlock some new skins and then perhaps replay the story at some point.

Crazy you gave part 1 a 7/10, I totally get it when you play part 2 back to back but it’s hilarious considering part 1 is lauded as one of the greatest of all time.

I would agree with you tho, EXCEPT part 1 had a peak multiplayer mode that elevates it to me

Literally just basic s*** that would be offered in a game 10 years ago. Resident evil also does this

I think one of the main reasons I didn't give the first game a higher score is because I had initially given up on it after several attempts at getting through its slow beginning. It took too long for me to get into the gameplay and start enjoying it, but the second game was enjoyable right from the start and all the way through to the end and had a faster pace. Also, in my score I'm only rating my experience with the main game/story, so I didn't count any extra modes or DLC.

I personally don't think I've played games with added mods like this, so to me personally it's pretty new.
