I don't know how to explain color palettes and color grading to you. Look for it online. What I'm saying about this show is very sutil. It's almost like something you can only feel. I'm a colorist enthusiast so I'll see things differently.

i did think the lens/colour grading/cinematography looked shockingly bland, iphone camera tier, and nothing from the first footage but i actually think it works tbh. makes it very 'matter of fact' & understated and unflashy.

i do wish there was less shaky steadycam though, cutting back and forth between different like 3/4 angles of shaky shots of 1 conversation gets kind of dizzying (although ofc this is judging from one episode)

the opening talk show sequence had very stable eerie shots and i think it'd be cool if they interchanged some of that for some moments and maybe they will down the line

When they made the videogame they tried to emulate film but it can never be perfect. Especially on a videogame.

I've just finished to watch the pilot and was still thinking about it but now I've made my mind that they got it right. It was a good choice.

If they shot it in 60fps that would have been too far. 24fps is glorious.
