This album feels really special in this digital age, I know it’s genius but I don’t know how he managed to pull it off.

i wish i felt the same tbh, it’s a great record and i love everything about it but i never understood this larger than life hype around it.

it makes sense with how it relates to the feelings of loneliness in the digital age, but his story telling chops isn’t close to what it felt like in his older stuff imo.

i think that’s the disconnect. i don’t really remember most lyrics from blonde. they are beautiful but lack much substance for me. the words don’t really hold emotional weight.

endless feels like the more “ground breaking” record in terms of sound design. really love that one and how it makes me feel.

blonde feels watching a cool ig story tbh

So you know the most “underrated” track from Blonde.

By underrated it’s always overlooked is Skyline To.

It’s the most melodic chune on there and it’s still so

  • Jan 12, 2021

i cant even make a top 5 for blonde without feeling like im leaving songs out

I can make a reasonable argument for most of them.

Solo is one of my most played tracks on there man.

People laffed but this really is one of the greatest albums like ever. Easily top 750

It’s only gonna getter better with time bro

I wrote an essay on KTT1 when I was a good poster about why Blonde isn’t as grandiose but it’s better cO.

Essentially cO’s scope was bigger and it tackled larger topics than Frank himself.

In Blonde it’s unapologetically self-centred in its scope and the lyrics are beautiful leave a lot to personal connection.

That’s why Futura Free and Godspeed are my favourite songs.

I’m not him but I’ll mean something to you

That’s some of the most visceral writing ever and then he immediately does a Morrissey 2 bars later and makes a joke of it.

This album is so f***ing good.

An elite song, song felt like it as a step above the rest when I first listened to it. Still as impactful as the first time I heard it

damn would love to read if u have the chance.

that’s the problem for me it felt vague enough that it could be anybody but still selfish enough to be unapologetically him?

there’s something inside me that wishes i could connect to all the lyrics but they don’t all click. great lyrics are there i just don’t think the whole thing is as great lyrically as ppl make it out to seem. but maybe that’s me letting others opinion cloud my enjoyment. still a profound record

    Bro

The album is full of s*** that’s actually so primal and painfully human.

Like the ending of white Ferrari

    Primal and naked
You dream of walls that hold us imprisoned
It's just a skull, least that's what they call it
    And we're free to roam

How many of us want to do something but we’re scared and held back the voice in our head.

Everyone is human but not many artists can make you feel vulnerable enough to feel like one and Frank does that.

If I can’t find it I’ll rewrite something when I work tomorrow lmao. It will probably be 2/3 paragraphs long.

Obviously it’s my idiosyncratic view on a admittedly idiosyncratic album.

But majority of it focused on Futura Free and how it was his version of Day in the Life by Andre.

  • ok... i guess its time to feel

tbh knew frank was a phenomenal writer but Blonde to me is what made me truly realize it. The metaphors and writing on songs like Nights, and Solo. Plus the song and track listing structure.
the brilliance of having Facebook story right before close to you (with an electronic effect used on his voice) everything is intentional

Okie I have never bothered to make a thread about this but in your own head, how many love songs do you think that you’ve heard in your life. 1,000, 10,000.

Out of whatever that number is what is the first few songs that pop into your mind.

Out of the thousands of songs about the same topic. The same edenic feeling of the first crush to the feeling in the pits of your stomache when it’s unrequited or even worse when that love you nurtured is no longer that hollowness that follows you to the point where you’re not even thinking about it but you still feel at unease.

Why do you think it’s those select few songs you remember?

A lot of things like this I felt on a subconscious level, just seeing it written out like this makes me love it even more man
