amoryi wish i felt the same tbh, it’s a great record and i love everything about it but i never understood this larger than life hype around it.
it makes sense with how it relates to the feelings of loneliness in the digital age, but his story telling chops isn’t close to what it felt like in his older stuff imo.
i think that’s the disconnect. i don’t really remember most lyrics from blonde. they are beautiful but lack much substance for me. the words don’t really hold emotional weight.
endless feels like the more “ground breaking” record in terms of sound design. really love that one and how it makes me feel.

Musically it was always cO > blonde for me as well. Much more varied and contemporary stuff on cO, a lot of Blonde’s sonic palette doesn’t capture me in the same way not enough drums lol
Or Maybe we both need more life experience to connect to the songs man

CampariOne of the greatest musical listens was listening to Siegfried in CDQ after 4 years of that live performance in Munich. Just taking it in at first was magical and almost overwhelming
I love the spacey & minimalist sound Frank went for on here but I really wish we got those drums near the end. Although, I don’t think It’d work as well on this as much as the more guitar based version.
