There’s zero reason why I fast food job literally providing food to hundreds of people shouldn’t pay enough to live comfortably off of

Then America has this weird notion of certain jobs deserving less pay than others

I somewhat agree but I think it depends. I think a job should enable you to have access to housing, food, utilities, and healthcare as a minimum.

If you give a fast food worker the same lifestyle as a dr. What’s the incentive to be a dr?

I will say working a fast food job this summer while depressed made me a lot more understanding of food service jobs

I was never disrespectful but was very ignorant of the stress and disrespect that comes with it, I’m glad I got a fresh perspective

Not true unless you working remotely. Most places with a cheaper cost of living is too account for the low quality of jobs and pay in that area. Moving somewhere cheaper usually involves a huge pay cut unless you are one of the few people who have the blessing of working remotely.

Cheaper COL does not equal better. I come from cheap Tennessee where it was a struggle to ever have much of anything because of terrible pay for most sectors in combination with natural rising COL.

Now I live in Denver with a much higher COL but I make way more money and have a lot more left over even with the more expensive bills.

It’s a lot more to it than just the COL so please don’t be naive and think that’s solves everything.

bro it's easy just make more money

You don’t need to study finance to work on Wall Street

There are English majors from Ivy leagues that get wall streets jobs

Finance isn’t hard bro, most of the concepts can be learned within a week. Anything else is learned on the job

    It just depends

For example, Houston is super cheap to live in if you’re outside the 610 loop. Oil and Gas jobs paid and still pay a s*** ton of money, but the industry is definitely uncertain. COVID has and will continue to sheer people away from Oil and Gas, so Houston is f***ed

I would say the majority of nurses and doctors would not be in that line of work if the salaries weren’t what they are

I sure as hell wouldn’t be a nurse if it didn’t get me 140k in NYC

And I would also say nurses and doctors still aren’t paid enough.

I can see that. But I also don’t like the power being put into the college systems.
Also if minimum wage isn’t being raised regularly. Jobs paying Degree salary won’t see any promotions. There wouldn’t be a reason to raise pay if minimum is so far behind.
And I know people already struggle paying off student loans with a degree job.

You would hope that college in turn would be either free or significantly cheaper than it currently is.

The super wealthy have their pockets grow fatter while the peoples wages remain stagnant

Imagine having more money than you could possibly spend.

Imagine money becoming so expendable to you that it essentially accounts for points on a leaderboard.

Yeah im not a big fan of struggling to make it there when im paying the bills here and legitimately love my apartment.

Just need to find a good paying job really. In finances thats basically just selling insurance or being an advisor. I doubt theres a fantastic financial job anywhere around nashville without needing 10 years of experience

Commercial property and casualty is a good industry. I have a few friends that work in it

Look up firms like Aon, Lockton or Marsh
