I personally didn't enjoy the special, the jokes didn't hit for me, but man was he spot on with the narrative of his jokes.

Not sure where you got angry from. These people make redundant content that provides nothing to the world. They’re just… replaceable.

this. these dumbasses are absolutely replacable. they make the most bleak dreadfully boring films/tvs.

also i agree with the post but matt walsh

Chappelle reputation is ruined to me at this point.

I hate this Anti-SJW Rogansphere "bait the lefties" observational comedy. It's so forced and not even that funny compared to the newer acts that actually have to put in effort to get jokes off.

Idgaf if Chapelle is a legend, his new stuff legitimately is not funny compared to what he once was.

The walkout is supported by lots of different employees spanning tech, finance, and other areas.

Writing Netflix employees off as communication majors is kinda cliche

If they support the LBGTQ community to extent they want to walkout, it’s their right to protest

  • Oct 21, 2021

I just thought the special just wasn’t that funny, it’s a rehash of his first special for the most part, surprised it got even more backlash then the first considering it’s the same type of comedy

You called them things that you know nothing about… and guess what? Maybe they do that content because they have to..

It is a genuinely hilarious idea to think you have leverage over a company because you gave them the idea for a show where people go on dates wearing costumes

The thing that bothers me the most about (new) Chappelle and that whole Rogan-sphere is they don't actually care about what they say. They say IDENTITY IDENTITY IDENTITY IDENTITY but let's be 100% honest - the problem isn't """identity politics""" the problem is their identity IS LOSING. Do you think Dave Chappelle cares about the media giving special attention to black people and black causes? Of course not, he just doesn't like that Gay/Trans people are the new hotness for the media to pretend to care about instead of his identity group. Go back to his stand-up a few years ago where he talks about white people's interpretation of the Chappelle show and why that discouraged him from comedy. Sure seems he cares quite a bit about identity. It's the same s*** with all those "common sense conservatives". Bari "how dare you insult israel" Weiss is here to lecture me on how identity politics is evil? Jordan "christianity is the salvation of mankind" Peterson is here to sell me on the evils of ritual dogma? Why don't you just be and honest and admit you're angry your identity group has lost the culture war.

I mean chappelle seemed to have just said s*** he didn’t bother to properly research and just say s*** like Kanye does.
But freedom to everyone to express there anger and frustration to its employers. Enough bending over to big brands.

Yeah his reasoning behind it was great. He just couldn’t speak it properly. I feel cancel culture got the best of him

(This coming from someone who debates against socialists on here constantly what companies are/do)

What exactly are you trying to say here? They don’t deserve the right to protest if their company goes against their values?

If Netflix wants to fire them okay it’s their right go ahead lol

But if they want to stand up for their beliefs and say we 1000+ employees of your company think A but you do B, well it’s within their right

They have the right to protest and I support that right at any workplace. It’s the complete lack of self-awareness that gets me. These people work for Netflix! Look what Netflix produces!!

I respect their right to make their voices clear if they aren’t happy with the company’s actions; but why don’t they just leave then? These aren’t low level employees mad about the way the company pays them, these are high six figure tech workers. It’s the company leadership’s decision on what to do here thats what they get paid for. Like Netflix said, if you’re mad about this it won’t be the last time you’ll be mad about content they have on their platform. Seems like working at Netflix isn’t a good fit for you

I’m not like OD anti the new special, i just didnt think it was funny but im a fan of Chappelle

But it makes me sad to see people think an oppressed group (transgender people, not netflix employees though im sure theres an overlap) feeling offended is funny

I have a transgender friend who came out to her family the week of the special dropping, and she went through a very rough time reading all of that discourse on the week she came out. S*** like that can be very discouraging for people and I dont get whats funny about that
