Without religion and racism we would have flying cars and maybe eternal life by now, just saying
We'd probably be in caves
Yeah that last part is facts. It becomes a problem when people impose their personal beliefs on others, goes with anything but it is prevalent in religion, because that’s where many people get their understanding of morals from. So they think anyone that disagrees is immoral
Yeah exactly, based in my own experiences I've known peopl against certain laws or politicians because of their religious values
Which everyone has a right to do so no doubt but just wonder how much influence does religion actually have on politics even if it isnt directly
Y'all notice how most people who claim to hate all religions seem to disporptionatley have critiques on Christianity and not much else?
Probably bc Christians have historically (at least throughout modernity with colonial ‘civilizing’ quests) been the most flagrant in terms of forcing their beliefs onto others across the globe
Religion is so f***ing fascinating, regardless of belief system. A massive portion of human history (next to all of it) revolves around religion in some way, and can be thought of as a direct reflection of the evolution of human conscious. Even though I'm a non-believer, it's obvious how important religion is not just to the individual, but to the collective advancement of our archaic past.
I agree w this
One of my friend recently converted to islam and he been like that smh
i'm catholic myself and he keeps saying s*** like "your prophet is a fake one" etc
Idk what to tell him and how to not sounds rude bc he really passionate abt that and that leads him to a good path so yea..

Pushy religious is corny
Out of the way to s*** on any religious ppl is corny as f*** too
Not true, Most hard line socialists on this site are great.
Lmfao no they’re f***ing insufferable and completely ignore data that contradicts their psuedo-woke ideology
I realised people have a different definition for corny depending who you ask. The word means nothing now
yeah "corny" implies a level of goofiness that's more in line with the image-driven atheists/pagans/occultists
religious nutjobs on the other hand are just straight up terrifying

You sound like someone who lacks self awareness
f*** em
If your whole personality is being an atheist or being religious you're boring as s***!!!!!

But that's so weird Jesus is important in Islam too as far as I know
the abrahamic entity god was a fantasy made up because science didn’t exist and people couldn’t explain what was happening around them
people then made up stories about god/other special figures just so people could follow their rules on life, the word of people with an agenda, who said they spoke to god so they could get people to follow them and their “laws”
But that's so weird Jesus is important in Islam too as far as I know
iirc jesus is considered a prophet to allah/God (since they are the same entity) in islam and that it didn't end at the new testament thus the story of muhammad and that jesus didn't die at the cross and whoever it was wasn't jesus and also that jesus wasn't the son of god
also islam is more closer to judaism in lineage/relation
the "fake prophet" thing may be alluding to catholics praying to jesus like he's god (the concept of the holy trinity) or maybe the fact that jesus was thought of as like the last big prophet to christians and that it ended there

Oh then I guess that makes sense even tho it's kinda rude to straight up say he's a false Prophet, even though I guess that's kinda the point it's interesting nonetheless

yeah also protestants/baptists didn't really like catholics because they thought catholics worship the virgin mary and not god IIRC
there's always been a bit of strife with other christian faiths with catholics over that concept of the holy trinity and the concept of the pope being the leader
i come from a catholic background as an atheist so i guess i'd be considered ex-catholic so thats kinda what im familiar with

Yeah I'm from an atheist family but in history classes in France we talk a lot about all of that so I'm familiar with Christianity and the different faiths in it, I've been doing research on Islam and Judaism tho I want to learn

All Abrahamic religions are luckily largely the same, when you understand even one - all of them make sense.
