There is a stark difference between a house and shelter, you can live in a cave or in the woods and your argument has basically been that a house (with electric, utility, water etc.) is the same. Just because the landlord disappears. There is intrinsic value in the house, it's not just a shelter

well off the top of my head, if a car dealer were to supply you with a vehicle that ur paying monthly payments on, if the dealer were to just disappeared wouldn't the car still be there
