im doing the trifecta this month. rewatching the wire, mad men and sopranos
the holy trinity
random takeaways from season 1 that I just finished (probably my 5th or 6th full rewatch).
-Arthur buccos wife is more annoying than I realized before. not sure why I sympathized more with her before, but this time around, cant believe he much she nags. probably how 80% of real life marriages go - so props for realism.
-Chris is very millennial with not wanting to wait to advance. trend setter for all of us in 2020 s/o to him for keeping it real in 1999.
-T killing the guy on the boat (I still dont know who his name), in broad daylight, and visible from the highway. Weird and unnecessary risk there. I get that he never is like fully careful throughout the show, this just caught my attention how out in the open this hit was.
Season 2 opener - Tony walks down his driveway to get his paper ... with no shoes? just noticed that.
who the f*** walks on pavement barefoot

I figured it was to set the tone and make him look like he’s gotten crazier over time, just finished that ep this morning
im just posting random things I notice at this point - aint got nothing new thematically to add after this many rewatches.
entire fam during any meal - at their home...they always have watches necklaces rings gold on. never noticed that fully before. quite odd. dont think ive ever been at a friends house or my own home, and had dinner with people wearing that much (if any) jewelry/accessories.

interesting fact, Edie Falco (Carmella) actually forgot to put on the wedding ring on the day they filmed the final scene at the diner - she said up to that point she had basically had to remember to put it on for almost every scene she'd ever done, then with all the emotion surrounding doing the diner scene she forgot to grab the ring in the dressing room
so I guess they must have put a pretty big emphasis on getting the jewellery for each character at all times
I remember a story as well about Tony getting I think a Patek in like season 2 (can't remember the model, may have even been an AP it's been so long since I saw the article) and Gandolfini was apparently involved in the whole process of choosing it, they had to chase one down from a dealer for like 40 stacks or something
Idk who's more insufferable Janice or Livia
Janice. She is a kardashian without the looks and vision

Feel like ppl did this more often back in the day like 99s early 2000s before we were more self conscious about germs and s***
College is such an amazing episode and maybe one of the best hours of television. What's y'all's personal favorite episodes?
On episode 11 of season 1. Binging it nonstop.
One of my boys told me it falls off after a couple seasons though, is he right?

There's a lot of context & build up to the crazy s*** that happens in the show but I wouldn't say it falls off or gets worse. Especially considering how great Season 3 is.

No, it gets better every season

It doesn't. The latter seasons get darker. I found myself liking the last season most like my first time watching. My current favorite is Season 3.
