Gandolfini kid KILLED IT
Dude pretty much morphed into Tony when that kid insults him and he gets that hateful Tony look on his face and snaps "Whaddiyya say??"
He needs his own movie or even better, mini series or full fledged show
I liked how he sat in the same way tony would sit in the therapist chair

Yessirrrrr
I really liked how D***ie was deflecting blame from himself like Tony would always do with the therapist. D***ie would say to his Uncle, in jail, I try to go see you, I try to be a good husband, does that not count for anything
Whoever was the actor in prison f***ing nailed it, he was soooo intimidating it wasn’t until he spoke he seemed like a gentle old man
The weirdest scene in the movie for me. D\*\*\*ie fantasizing about coaching a blind baseball team, idk wtf that was trying to accomplish :cryhah:. I almost came away from it thinking it was supposed to be purposely stupid to tie back to Chris’ absurd movie scripts and those moments he would be “deep” but not deep at all in the series. Almost like father, like son moment. But the tone didn’t match that sort of sopranos humor and sarcasm from the show. So I think they were serious. :clapdead:
I know people keep mentioning that they don’t bring up D\*\*\*ie’s d\*\*\* issues, but I’m wondering… maybe the rest of the family misconstrued him having the script for T’s mom on him at death as him being a junkie pill addict. Hell… Uncle Junior may have further spread the misinformation too since he hated him.
Didn’t like it as I watched the film but now that I think about it, I realize that it’s a thoughtful decision. D***ie is Christopher’s biological father and Tony’s surrogate father, Tony is also Christopher’s surrogate father. The Sopranos started as a conflict between a son and his mother but it’s mostly about (surrogate) sons and fathers. Ultimately, Johnny Boy, Junior and D***ie did more damage to Tony than Livia but that’s something Tony denies until the last part of the final season. So basically, Chris is telling us how his own father’s failure to save Tony turned him into a monster.
Edit: I realized something, D***ie’s own surrogate father is his uncle, Salvatore. It’s like a f***ed up cycle. A true Greek tragedy.
That's pretty introspective. I've watched the show straight through 2x pretty attentively and am not there yet. Similar to the wire, I continue to catch onto nuances and themes in the story that I wouldn't of been able to on the first couple watches. I think this movie was good and I like the amount of insight they gave us on most characters m, anymore would've ruined the mystique for me. My only critique is some of the production was too crisp and clean for me compared to the way the show was shot and though I loved some of the actors rendition of characters we love in some instances I thought it was over the top as the series was but didn't click like it used to

A coach guides children, he helps them reach their potential, he’s a role model. That’s basically what D***ie wanted to be for Tony. He wants to be a role model himself because “Hollywood D***ie”, his father, was a piece of s***.
Man, Chase had so many great ideas, I’m still pissed he decided to do a film instead of a show.
I was so confused when he killed Hollywood D\*\*\* because I’m like wait Ray Liotta was in the trailer talking to him in jail and that scene hasn’t been showed yet.

I get that but blind baseball game coach || is pretty out there. I agree though, I actually think he could have made || a mini series for d\*\*\*ie to really let the inner turmoil organically grow and show how Tony gravitated towards him. And I think he could’ve made a film for the Newark Riots. I agree there’s a lot of good ideas here. I think there’ll be sequels of some sort.

This is funny af honestly.
We need a sequel based on Tony in his late 20s. Best actor by far in the movie.
Nah Vera as Livia >>>>>>>>
can someone explain though how after D\*\*\*ie killed his dad he showed up in the hospital right after? Was it a flashback?
Yea I see now. Love misleading trailers 🙄
Yeah I don’t get why they’d try to advertise it as a Tony movie. Michael deserves more air time IMO. He was the best actor in the movie.
