What the hell is going on? I have not heard a single good thing about hairstylists in the black community, especially when it comes to women.

They want you to do 70% of the work - no product no oil straightened no split ends parted blow dryed - and they charge like 300 dollars. AND they be late as hell when youre on time. AND they be overbooking.

Heard this through my girl, my other friends, and the internet like twitter and s***. Why everybody tryna be jeff bezos?

nah ngl, i went to a hairstylist a month or two ago for a retwist, the damned lady arrived extremely late, rushed me through the entire thing, and the entire retwist came apart not even a day later

i know it’s just my anecdote, but imo something is up

even when i was looking at places to get a retwist im seeing some of them charge 150+ like dude the pandemic is over lmao

got my locs retwisted in 2020 and my locs used to be exceptionally long and thick (the mix of those) by a soca artist on fulton in Brooklyn and not only did she do a great job, saved one of my strands that was starting to tear, and got a good deal for how long it took (like 3 hours).

I also got a producing gig from that appointment

Black women have been complaining about this for years. Hairstylist have been charging for egregious prices and then expect the costumer to already come with their hair washed, and in some instances, bring their own product.

That’s those front room hair stylists. You gotta go to the professional shorties in the shops. I’ve never had an issue going to shops. But I had issues when I would go to shorties front rooms to get my hair done.
