POOM POOM DOOMBlack women have been complaining about this for years. Hairstylist have been charging for egregious prices and then expect the costumer to already come with their hair washed, and in some instances, bring their own product.

how difficult was your curriculum, if you don’t mind sharing?
I mean it’s hard for sure but as long as you study and apply yourself you should be good. Just use all the resources the school offers you and work in study groups with people smarter than you.

nah ngl, i went to a hairstylist a month or two ago for a retwist, the damned lady arrived extremely late, rushed me through the entire thing, and the entire retwist came apart not even a day later
i know it’s just my anecdote, but imo something is up
even when i was looking at places to get a retwist im seeing some of them charge 150+

I don’t think this is a new issue tbf, my mom was complaining about this when we were young
I do think it got exacerbated because of Covid no doubt, everyone jacked their prices up.
But I think the stereotypical late, expensive hairstylist is kind of a caricature in the black community at this point the trope has been known.
