Luckily for EVERYONE, ReleaseTheAyerCut is trending big. Let's all join in and let the studio know that there is a better film out there.

N for those opposed, I have two words for you

    Come On.

Srsly tho. If u have zero issue with the marvel "what if" content then this would literally be no different. It's more capeshit for ppl to consume which means more talk back and engagements. No downsides here bois

How's the Ayer cut supposed to differ from the theatrical one? Didn't Ayer write the one in theatres so it's still his ideas unlike Snyder and Josstice league? I don't know not sure

There were studio mandated changes, reshoots that changed some of the tone and character motivations/endings. All original score. The person who edited Ayers version also edited the dark knight. The studio one was edited by an outside company.
More joker. More of June and her story making more sense.

Did Ayer write both versions? Or did they completely scrap his original version and give it to someone else to write.

Not the entire story but there's this guy called geoff johns..... hes basically the guy who keeps interfering with these movies (JL, BOP, SS, ect.)

  • Aug 13, 2021

Releasing two different cuts is lowkey genius move by DC

    get double the attention

Yeah this thread on twitter explains it. Makes me curious. Is it looking likely that this will eventually see the light of day?

Super difficult to say. It's WB so off the rip, they are a garbage studio. Besides that, they are kinda broke right now so funding something may not be in their best interest BUT they are being purchased by Discovery next year so...there's that.

There's also the internal politics of all this. How they TRULY DISLIKE zack snyder and any movie very closely associated with him gives them the stink face. They see the reaction to BVS and SS (two movies they personally butchered) as huge huge stains on their branding..

And then there's THE Suicide Squad that just came out and got great critical reception but bombed at the BO. So to them...there's not much reason to release it. They really wanna move past all this. Irony is, these movies set the template for the future releases.

It's a tricky situation. Which is why fan and casual pressure is extremely important right now especially with a new company coming in. Gotta let them know that more capeshit is good for the brand and means more income for them and a happier, more satisfied consumer base

i really wish we could get a suicide squad film that just lets them take on a threat that they can actually logically handle.

one thing with the DCEU is , theyll try to make things as disconnected from the universe as possible but still want me to believe its in the universe

like if so , why is Batman and Superman in normal ass versions of gotham and metropolis, like they look like average cities, looks gritty, then here everyone super comic accurate as if its Loki.
they are really inconsistent with the universe and what characters can do

They have zero understanding of their IP, and the ones that do (Geoff Johns) can't marriage the relationship between the comics and film on the silver screen, I'll give him credit for Stargirl however.

That was a much more personal project for him (stargirl) And I'm not completely writing him off when it comes to his actual comic book work. But u gotta ...at a certain point...understand your strengths and weaknesses. And he's very weak when it comes to the big screen.

He really thought he could be the Feige of the DC universe, guess he learned the hard way, and everyone suffered for it.

What's a threat they can logically handle? In the comics it's always a mix bag of villains and threats.

"one thing with the DCEU is , theyll try to make things as disconnected from the universe as possible but still want me to believe its in the universe

This is an issue in the comics tho and just the nature of super hero stuff in general the world's and the cities themselves switch style depending on artist.

That's been consistent in the films even Burton and Schumachers Gothams are the same and completely different and Nolams Gotham in Begins is Gothic compared to the realistic one in the sequels.

"they are really inconsistent with the universe and what characters can do"

I don't get this tho what was inconsistent with ehat the characters can do?

He's talking specifically about DCEU's problems, it mostly falls on the suits, MCU does a good job, which is its primary criticism of being "formulaic"

  • Aug 13, 2021

Crazy how both Animated Suicide Squad movies are better than both of the live action ones.

Rocksteady next up, they about to deliver a goat Suicide Squad experience

But the DCEU isnt having an issue that the comics they are based in dont have. It's illogical to ask every universe to function as the MCU does cause its a different thing.

The DCEU isn't having a problem this is the reality now of then embracing a multi verse and director lead films.

I don't think you're understanding fam's point bro and I may not either. That being said, in the comics, of course there will be "inconsistencies" in continuity and canon and in that medium it's allowed because "comics" aren't meant to be taken seriously. He's talking about the films being seen as realistic and being believable if they were to emulate real life. Maybe he doesn't know about the multiverse concept so it's a done deal.

By who? Cause the audience consuming them takes them seriously and companies do cause they try to reboot every 5 years to establish canon and continuity.

"He's talking about the films being seen as realistic and being believable if they were to emulate real life."

Yeah I'll wait to see what he says cause your points seem to be about the mediums and the difference between film and comics.

That's the core audience, I'm not referring to them. Casuals still look at it as immature. And they reboot every 5 years to reach a bigger audience, keeps failing.

Precisely so you going ham on this caught me off-guard ngl

Yeah I wasn't bringing up Comics continuity as anything more then a precedent and example I'm not tryna debate the audience of it just Point out those inconsistency exist in the medium it's adapted from.

Its like complaining why no one can tell Spiderman is Peter when he as the same voice or Superman is Clark Kent it's cause the source material says so.

No one is going ham I hate the fact that on the internet anything beyond three words is considered that but it's whatever.
