if i had to guess their mindset, they probably don't want to hire another 1st time HC. vrabel is at least experienced with running a team and they probably want experience after the mayo failure. this is why i bet vrabel is their #1

Yeah I can totally see the pluses and minuses of both — really comes down to who each would bring on as their coordinators.

I would call it a huge win if we got either Vrabel or Johnson though

I would assume we’ll be getting word of which way they’re leaning at minimum within the next few hours (maybe even full on signing news if it’s Vrabel)

I’m down with Terrell Williams (Lions D Line Coach) who it sounds like will be our DC

The more I think about it and the more I listen to other informed people talk about it, the more I love the McDaniels hire (and I obviously loved it already based on my comments above)

He has had such a long history of success (the only exceptions being when he was in a Head Coach role, so I’m not going to include those) — Bill obviously played a role in gameplanning but Josh led offenses that won 3 titles and 1 that could be described as the best offense of all time

And worked with various QBs including Brady, Cassel, Jimmy, Jacoby, Cam, Mac — and I think it’s extremely fair to suggest that for each of those QBs, Josh got them to play at their absolute PEAK related to their age/experience at the time of coaching them

And we’re likely going to be getting Josh for a long time, because I definitely don’t see an NFL team offering him head coach again and I don’t think he wants to coach college

So basically, I would be shocked if someone quotes this post in a year and can say “you were wrong”. He’s going to have his work cut out for him if Wolf is still making personnel decisions (or whoever is sucks just as bad at bringing talent in), but Josh is going to squeeze every bit of talent out of the players we have on offense.

What are everybody’s thoughts on possibly trading for Cooper Kupp? I’m privy to a lot of Rams games here in LA, and I think he’s got plenty left in the tank. Kupp would give Maye a reliable pair of hands and an elite route runner.

Totally down with it. Not gonna be disappointed or anything if we don’t do it because I think the injury accumulation and age is going to make it difficult for him to play a lot of games going forward, but the games he does play in he should be impactful.

Agreed. The biggest concern is the injury history. If he can stay healthy I do think he would give Maye a great safety blanket. I don’t think he should be the team’s #1 priority, but like you said, if we can trade a third or fourth for him it could be worth it.
