I’m very happy but while I don’t know exactly where our cap stands, I do think it’s obvious that we’re going to need to free up some space now. Gilmore, hightower, etc.

Could probably use a bit freed up, but I'd guess we're probably sitting at around 10 mil in space right now, so I don't think we need anything drastic unless Bill wants to trade for Wilson/Watson (which I don't see as at all likely).

What do yall think our biggest needs are right now in the short term and in the long term? I'd say

Short Term:

• 3rd down receiving back
• Quality WRs
• Pass Rush on D Line
• Linebackers that can defend the pass
• QB depth

Long Term:

• QB
• Offensive Tackles (Wynn and Brown could be out the door next year)
• Cornerback depth (Gilly and JC possibly will be gone by next year)
• Young linebackers
• WRs

Looking at my list, I'm kind of surprised that CB is actually making a lot of sense for our 1st round pick if they feel like they can get the top guy there. A month ago I would have been sickened by the idea of Bill drafting another corner with our top pick lol

idk. tbh I don't know much about college players in general.

generally I will be stoked if we take a QB in the first round because it will mean they want a guy that much. but s*** if I know whether it'll be a good or bad pick

Welp time to prepare yourselves to be massively disappointed on getting a QB of the future fellas :okay:

Doesn’t sound like Jimmy is going to be easily available because the 49ers will want time to develop the QB they draft first, so it would take a lot of capital to pry Jimmy from them this season (not to mention even if we gave the assets required, his salary is massive and he’s injury prone).

And then there’s the fact that now the first 3 teams drafting this year are going QB. So there’s definitely no chance the #4 QB falls to us, and there’s even a chance that Mac Jones doesn’t fall to us if we want him (which I’m not really sure we do anyway).

We had one year to tank properly and secure a high enough draft pick to get Tom’s replacement in probably the deepest QBs in the top 10 of a draft in a decade or maybe longer and we f***ing blew it
