its easy to like simple chords and melodies, hence the popularity of.. pop

you can also begin to like a song because of mixing/mastering, different instruments and how they interact with each other and other stuff that you dont notice upon first listening

Some times that is true though. You could totally over hype a song or album and not like it at first. Then you listen to it again without those expectations and you end up really liking it.

That could also be a weak defense. A lot of Kanye stans say that JIK is an amazing album and the people that are hating on it now, will love years from now like they did with 808’s and Yeezus. I don’t think that’s the case here. I loved 808’s and Yeezus on first listens and still love them to this day. I will always think JIK is a really bad album.
