    Its true

I’ve had albums i didn’t like at first. Went back to them like a year later and alot of those albums are my favourite albums OAT

Everything depends on your mood, perception, where you are, weather etc. Acquired taste is the best taste

At first i hated Blonde because it didn’t sound like Channel Orange. A couple months later Blonde>CO.

Naw not at all. Cause there’s been instances where I didn’t even DISLIKE a song, but it was jus kinda average in the context of the album. But I would stay replaying the specific song that came before it. And due to that average song constantly coming on after it, it would eventually grow on me, sometimes to the extent that I ended up liking it MORE than the song that was being replayed.

This has happened more times than I can count and is the main factor that causes me to love an album front to back.

setting and vibe is important tho, its like being with your homies and yall lit and bout to invite some girls and go out and s***, and someone says "ay listen to this new king krule song"

you gonna get laughed at and slapped off the aux

does it mean king krule is trash?

No, but the vibe aint it bro, timing is key

Now you play that s*** while you're at the beach at night with a girl, best believe you gonna clap those cheeks later

  • btw i give personal coaching sessions, feel free to dm me if you want more gems

people tend to like stuff that sounds familiar

so whenever they hear something that goes beyond their concept of good music, they think the song is s***

ex. I hated Flockavelli back in 2010 but it grew on me

  • 2 albums in my top 10 OAT, I hated at first. But yeah those people that only say "it grows on you" still annoying but don't act like it isn't a thing.

  • Mar 9, 2020

actually the opposite of this is true to the point where the premise isn’t even fair to suggest (just bc something grows on you don’t mean it had to grow on you, you just brainwashed yourself into liking it)

If you hear anything enough along you’re gonna kinda like it especially if it’s not terrible to begin with and the beat is hard

Maybe not this week bc they got the women’s s*** going on but try listening to Apple Rap Life over and over in span of a week and see how many songs you gradually just let play compared to instant skips when u first started for that week. It kinda puts in perspective how effective visible playlist placement of records is along with how effective that same concept was/is in radio and music video programming

Yeah I don’t think anyone’s saying “keep listening” but you might come back to a song you thought was mid one day and it might be exactly what you’re looking for at the time.

Everyone has sensibilities that they may have to work past in order to fully appreciate some music.

When I first heard Yeezus I wasn’t sure what to say about it. I could’ve said it was bad just off that one listen but I kept on and it grew on me.
