This only works for music people do like
Show me a song that sounds like you're supposed to like it which is not popular
Jacob collier discog
Tyler the Creator isnt progressive and his album while fun to listen to came and went for the most part. He often doesnt craft music that helps you in your day to day or conceptual albums leaving fun music that often caters to a younger audience there
lol you can just not make statements that force people to the defensive because you want to paint them as something its a poor discussion tactic
This is not a discussion. OP has a conclusion and is siding with those who agree. We're just trading stories. It's not that serious
while true his production is undeniable
not really. i’ve always found it pretty tacky tbh
Rocky is so far removed from Peso this argument holds little weight
Like bringing up Yonkers
i think overall his point sticks tbh
like does Tyler have a Praise The Lord tier hit?
Earfquake/See You Again could prolly be around there?

Is Rocky on Praise the Lord?

Even Praise the Lord is more culturally significant than a lot of Tyler’s discog if we being real

I dont really pay attention to what OP is doing because this isnt a blackjack dealer I dont really care about his theory and following who he agrees with
after Chromakopia I personally am in no rush to listen to another tyler album because he barely has things to talk about

Praise the Lord is not more significant than Yonkers lol

I don’t have a conclusion friend I haven’t seen any convincing arguments that suggest otherwise
tyler beefed with Ian for attention before a rollout only to bring Ians biggest collaborator llil yachty on tour

Tyler has always been a fan of Yatchy
Tyler also beefed with Rocky and buried the hatchet
This is growth you're confusing with malice
I grew up on Tyler. I think I was maybe in 6th grade when B****** came out. He was one of my favorite artists throughout that period but honestly the last Tyler album that I truly enjoyed all the way through was maybe Flower and the last one I loved was Wolf.
Tyler is talented and has a passion for hip hop and music in general and you can see that in his work. But the disconnect for me is I hate his singing, I’m not the biggest fan of his production and I don’t really find myself invested in what he’s rapping about.
If you listed Tyler’s qualities and attributes out on paper I feel like I should enjoy his post flower boy work way more than I actually do. I like maybe 4-5 songs off a new Tyler album when he drops
Yonkers is one of the biggest scare the hoes songs of all time
that doesn't mean it didn't have impact tho
let's not be revisionist and pretend it was HUGE in it's time

even if i said other songs he had im still not wrong about peso. rocky just off that music video had people copying his fashion style. never seen people dress like tyler with his wes anderson extras fits

Saying this after Chromakopia, his most introspective album, is strange
I think he’s a breath of fresh air in the game
I’m not a huge fan of him or anything but I appreciate that he actually cares and his music is very homegrown and organic sounding. I love his DIY style production and he’s incredibly talented at producing, and is a solid rapper. But still one of those artists who have to be ur cup of tea I guess.
I have been annoyed by the pitched up singing thing he does, but s*** it’s whatever, he has an idea for a song and wants to execute it, doesn’t quite have the singing chops to make it work so found a workaround that’s fairly decent. I don’t prefer his songs that are singing heavy anyway
Saying this after Chromakopia, his most introspective album, is strange
oh no I agree it is introspective and I appreciate it looking in I just dont know if there is much more to say after that without revealing too much if that makes sense
while i was very surprised not to fw chromakopia as much as i thought i would (it feels like the first time hes ever dropped an album where almost all of the music is retreading stuff hes already done) you’re absolutely dead wrong to say he doesnt have any great projects.
hes been a critic darling for years so i dont know where you’re getting the idea that his music isnt good enough to satisfy the chin scratchers of the world.
