Y’all ever try putting a homie on this show only for them to call it “boring” and dropping it after the first few episodes?
crazy how I've watched this show maybe 2-3 times all the way through already and read up on a bunch of symbolism and other neat facts...yet STILL manage to pick up on new things now that I'm rewatching it again...just parallels between characters that didn't stick out to me before and things like that but man...GOAT series

that s*** pisses me off cos they’re expecting a murder every two seconds and want the show to blatantly spell out the message in a very digestible way. season 1 a great season too and they want some bullshit like power where there’s f***ing, death and whatever nonsense every 30 seconds

Yeah I always preface that the first season starts a little slower as you get to know the characters.
i just rewatched the first 4 seasons and i gotta say this the best show ever. there’s just so much clever s*** that’s done in this show that shocks me at how brilliant yet subtle it is. the show has aged remarkably well and the fact that the show is just an honest portrayal of the city of baltimore meaning there’s no protagonists means they can do so much with the different institutions and able to show the parallels with both

Tbh I watched first 3 episode months ago didn’t really fw it but came back to it recently and now hooked

yeah annoying but i was in the same situation lol
i finished my rewatch and yeah this the best show ever. -30- is not only my fav finale ever but fav episode of any tv series tbh that s*** was so good how it ties in everything in that show. i really wish there was like 10 seasons lmao but i’m thankful i got 5 excellent seasons
i find it really hard to follow this show i love the direction, and performances from the cast but just find it hard to keep tabs with everything that goes on.
It may be a cliche but this show really does feel like a great series of novels. I'm rewatching it now and am honestly stunned by how multi layered it is. I tend to prefer novels nowadays to TV series' but individual seasons of this are up there with my fav novels for sure

nick really was goat back then
Just finished watching this for the first time, and man I'm not sure if anything will top this series for me.
Also, not sure I've ever been more proud of any TV character as much as I am of Bubbles

Yea his character development was incredibly scripted
On my rewatch marathon (watching the 16:9 remaster not the 4:3 SD version)
I mean Season 1 is great don't get me wrong but IMO from season 2 is when the show truly becomes f***ing incredible
I'm currently 2 episodes left on season 2, and I never thought this would be one of my favorite seasons man
Masterpiece.

Fun fact, actual novelists were also hired to work on the show alongside David Simon and Ed Burns. That "novel feeling" is not by mistake
Picking up sooo much stuff I missed watching the first time around, like how it was never really just about the money for Ziggy in season 2, and how his story mirrors with Stringer's arc. Also, this is when Bodie really comes into his own, and proves that he's not just a foot soldier, and Stringer sees something in him.
Prez really decked his father in law
