Im rewatching the wire and already thinking about rewatching it again

i'm cautious because I overplayed the sopranos too much. Next year I'm taking a sabbatical from my annual consumption of late 20th century television.. probably will cave though 'cause everything pales to the cream of the crop.

what helps keeps things fresh for me is I try to time my rewatch with someone else who has never seen the show before so we can talk events and I can see fresh perspectives and how they take the show in

I've probably watched the show front to back with like 5 different people at this point. a bunch of my friends and my girl

that's a great idea, I get taking a new insight and perspective into consideration. I'll have to find myself a shorty to enjoy some HBOlyness

On rewatch Ziggy is even more of a hate watch what an insufferable weasel ass malaka

His brother was cool, wish he popped back up in season 4 or 5

Niko is in a scene with the other stevedores in season 5, s*** talking the mayor

I'd watch a spinoff slap stick comedy show where he falls flat on his face at every scheme every single episode

naaaah ziggy is goated and one of the highlights of season 2

That old Greek song at the end of s2 e11 was so damn fire i had to track it down on spotify for my playlist

Watching for the first time ever and I just got to the episode where Stringer dies. Really sucks to lose him from the cast but I’ve heard S4 is the best one.

Speaks to this show's quality to kill off a tour de force character like that and drop a season like that afterwards.

The GOAT

Need them to stop using brother muzone though, he doesn’t fit into the show at all imo. That scene with omar at the beginning of 3-11 felt like s***ty Joss Whedon marvel dialogue.

That and this scene where Daniels and Kima are telling their SO’s they’re going back to work are two of my favorites. When the show fully locks in it’s untouchable

Season 3 Montage gets me in my feels.

this show transcends television 📺 it's really social commentary that is still relevant as it was when it first dropped.

The ending montages on this show are done so damn well. They can be very sad but they are done very perfectly. Wrapping up a season set to an awesome song. 🍸

I go back and forth on whether season 3 or 4 is the best season of the wire. Season 3 is definitely superior imo

I'm so happy they didn't include needless celebrities appearances.

S5 serial killer plot was a bit ridiculous thus the lowest ranking. Also S1 and S2 pretty much interchangeable. Hard to decide which one is third.

So f***ing random, nick wright and em really became the best of those debate shows once Shannon and skip broke up she talk almost exactly the same

Something about S5 seems off to me, It’s like the show got a whole new crew behind the scenes in between S4-5
