well i mean even the examples like that are comparable to other things. the issue is that people approach this discussion all this time with some perverse idea of what human nature is as if you can separate it from the society we live in. I would very much like if people could remove "human nature" from the equation, and then approach it from the perspective of "could this work theoretically? are there any flaws in the design of the implementation?" that are, again, not dealing with human nature, which while important, is not as trivial as what people make it out to be where greed and selfishness are inherent qualities.

disagree ... how do you maintain our current excess of food supply, technology built with precious metals, public transit etc without exploiting the developing world for labour and resources? something has to give, and it has nothing to do with whether I work or not.

also you can't arbitrarily choose what you want to work on until we reach the point of total automation. if the Synopsis Revolution happened tmrw people would be forced to do labour they might not want to do, there is literally no way around that (for now)

But no current form of human made government can or will work for masses because phsyopathic people often rise to power
Your idea of an ideal government can’t happen because not everyone is you, has your beliefs or wants to live live the way that you want to live it. Wether you can argue it is or isn’t better doesn’t matter. A large number of outliers won’t agree and will cause conflict. How do you handle that conflict? War? Genocide? You can’t put millions of people who violently disagree with your ideas in ‘rehab facilities’

i mean if you dont believe that societal collapse is imminent (and obv thats the debate to be had), you could argue that we could reach a technological singularity in a couple of decades. and from there literally anything is possible

well this isn't a one day project. you have to set the wheels in motion then get their over time.

and you can do it without exploiting the global south. its a bit privileged because im talking from the position of an american,but imagine if america didn't tear down socialism across the globe but supported those oppressed and exploited people in their struggle without trying to exert its influence eveywhere. you can have a "humane" foreign policy. but the difficulty is that different countries are at different stages of development. what needs to happen is self determination for all the exploited ppl of the world

My people were still treated like trash and they had a good economy. Still we’re poor in a good economy. The economy won’t fix anything but quality of life for few. How do we fix that?

I agree. It’s just annoying going in threads and seeing people trying to downplay racism with “it’s all about class”. Like no it’s not. It’s like they want to feel oppressed and tell you “when it goes down you think a rich black will care about a broke black like a rich white wont care about a broke white” like they’re trying to tell you how something will happen. They think rich black People are seen the same rich white people. They’re clearly not but they apparently can’t see that because they’re trying to feel oppressed.

If I didn't have to work 40 hours a week for 15 an hour I would spend so much more time gardening, painting, exercising, and loving my family and friends. If that is a what a removal of "individuality" is then sign me the f*** up.

Sorry if some of us are upset and hurt your delicate sensibilities, we've just happened to live through two once in a lifetime economic crashes while the stock market skyrockets and wealth inequality has never been stronger.

its not about the propaganda turning people away from communism. its about the propaganda leading people to believe there is no conceivable alternative to capitalism, while also getting people to believe that they, the individual are in complete control, that there is no system steering them towards an outcome so to speak.

also you can go check that thread, i just talked with a guy for hours and answered any criticisms they had. but at some point, people lose the plot and place some sort of inconceivable burden as if i, or anyone else, has to have this entire new world plotted out to the most minute detail, so they just keep nitpicking and nitpicking until they can get you on the smallest little thing so they can say "see i told you it won't work because you weren't able to account for what would happen if johnny down the street couldn't have 3 pools and a bounce house in his backyard"
