They denounced him because he a mf Nazi now, not because Donda 2 was horrible (which it was)
thought they denounced him mainly because he jobbed them? anyway I’m not gonna evaluate something that’s clearly unfinished, defeats the purpose imo..maybe if I was a sap who payed 200 I’d see it differently
Donda 2 is undoubtedly a bad album lol
I agree with the rest, esp Kendrick, though I also wouldn't be mad if someone called Honestly Nevermind a bad album
You are correct we not counting that though it’s a demo
A significant percentage of the songs are poorly executed, have bad verses or production, or are unlistenable
For example having 2-3 misses on a 16 track album is not a bad album
Having 7-8 misses on a 16 track album is a bad album
Isn’t this extremely subjective? What if someone only genuinely enjoys like 7-8 songs from one of the longer albums by one of the artists in OP?
Can I purchase or stream Donda 2 sir?
Until Kanye came out as a Nazi, you could buy it for $200 a pop with the Stem player, and it was executively produced by Future

Personally not being into a song and critically a***yzing it and determining weather it’s a poorly executed song or not is two different things
I HATE WHEN DRAKE RAPS
DRAKE SINGS TOO MUCH
DRAKE IS A POP ARTIST
DRAKE DOESN'T EVEN WRITE HIS OWN SONGS
DRAKE TOOK AN L
DRAKE DIDN'T START FROM THE BOTTOM
DRAKE IS FINISHED
I LIKE DRAKE'S OLDER STUFF
DRAKE MAKES MUSIC FOR GIRLS
DRAKE THINKS HE'S JAMAICAN
DRAKE IS AN ACTOR
DRAKE CHANGED
ANYBODY ELSE > DRAKE
YEAH YEAH WE KNOW
nah drake think he british, jamaican, southern american and spanish

Nah you could buy the STEM PLAYER for $200 which just so happened to include a demo of Donda 2 which was later scraped

Ye literally announced it as an album lol
It's an album, Kanye has fallen off

What is this objective criteria for a poorly executed song that you’ve come to? You must have one based on this thread
CLB exist
CLB is a great example of what I’m talking about actually
It’s obviously not a classic or not even a great album only a stan would suggest that but objectively it’s far from bad
It’s 21 tracks long. I challenge you to name just 5 objectively BAD songs on that album. Not songs YOU personally aren’t into but songs the average person would agree and say “yeah that song is objectively terrible”. You can’t do it lol.
Y’all be exaggerating like hell lol

He announced Yandhi too and that also has a rough demo but no one is running around calling that an album now are they

donda was better but this is true, and i love making fun of drake

I pretty much break it down into individual elements. Production wise I’m listening for good melodies or samples solid percussion and rhythm that makes my head nod, satisfying low end, good execution also that intangible element that provides that feeling of soul or some sort of connection. Production doesn’t need to be complex it can be rather simple just as long as the appropriate emotional chord is struck. Although there is nothing wrong with complex orchestration like Kanye does sometimes. It’s whatever the emotion calls for.
Performance wise I’m listening for interesting flows and schemes, entertaining lyrics (don’t necessarily have to be deep or complex), presence, just an overall captivating performance. A great concept or theme is nice but not necessary.
If a song is lacking in many of those areas I’d say it’s bad/poorly executed
music is subjective
Indeed it is which is why the “Bad Drake albums” “Bad Jay-Z Albums” “Everything After TLOP is garbage” and “MMTBS is trash” narratives are lame
Kanye - JIK is definitely a bad album objectively. It’s straight garbage
Jay Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail sounds like an old man trying to be hip. It’s straight Booty juice
Kendrick Lamar - Mr Morale is dogshit and one of the worst albums of the 2020s. F*** that redditor album, nobody bumping that s*** outside
Drake - pretty much all his albums are bad
100% wrong about Mr. Morale and Drake

those are just opinions man
He announced Yandhi too and that also has a rough demo but no one is running around calling that an album now are they
Because the rough demo was unofficially leaked as opposed to officially released, and Kanye officially scrapped Yandhi before any version of it was legally or intentionally released
those are just opinions man
Tell them that
It’s funny how we always have a tendency to advocate for negative people’s right to have an opinion but dismiss those with positive opinions as stans
The term Classic is irrelevant in this conversation (it’s pretty much obsolete anyway) but yeah:
Kanye (obviously)
JAY-Z
Kendrick Lamar
Drake
The 2 albums before Donda are garbage
CLB is garbage
Because the rough demo was unofficially leaked as opposed to officially released, and Kanye officially scrapped Yandhi before any version of it was legally or intentionally released
Eh you have a point but I still feel like if I can’t access the album via normal channels it’s not cannon

What would you say about classic early-to-mid 2010s mixtapes that are still only officially available on DatPiff?
More importantly, what would you have said given your current line of thinking of those releases at the time of their original release?
