The 2 albums before Donda are garbage
CLB is garbage
I challenge you to name 5 objectively bad songs from any of those albums you named
Not just songs you aren’t into but songs the average person would objectively say is a terrible song
I’ll wait
The term Classic is irrelevant in this conversation (it’s pretty much obsolete anyway) but yeah:
Kanye (obviously)
JAY-Z
Kendrick Lamar
Drake
Everything is love sucked.

I don't really like drake post more life but if you are a fan of his other records I don't see how you call CLB bad lol. It's of a quality and style with the rest of his work
What would you say about classic early-to-mid 2010s mixtapes that are still only officially available on DatPiff?
More importantly, what would you have said given your current line of thinking of those releases at the time of their original release?
I would say they are mixtapes lol
If an mixtape is officially released by the artist and ACCESSIBLE on traditional mixtape channels like Datpiff like you mentioned I would say they are cannon in their overall catalog but that doesn’t really apply to what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about the main discog which consists of retail studio albums/solo releases (drakes “retail mixtapes” and “playlists” for this definition)

Even if you think this (I don’t I think Damn is incredible) okay isn’t bad so yeah
Everything is love sucked.
One of the best couples albums to ride out with your girl to satisfy both parties
Also has some gems
Beyoncé smoked Hov on almost everything but none of the songs are bad so nah
It’s an a***ogy
a really terrible one
a really terrible one
I don’t think so super star athletes are celebrities that are expected to perform at a high level just like A List rappers
We instinctively understand perfection is near impossible in sports so we allow a larger margin for error but for music people expect absolute perfection and I think it’s unfair. Rappers are as human as athletes and should be able to have a song or two not land without getting panned

How would you look at modern mixtapes then, that are collections of originally recorded and sequenced music distributed through official channels?

Couldn't pay me to listen to that album again.
True but BBTM is kinda mid
