But even with listening to an album for a long while and letting the deep cuts reveal themselves (which I assume most of us here do), can you not do that with multiple albums at once?
Multiple albums by one artist? Sure but why bother when there are 6000 other worthy artists to check out

and my whole point is i bet most of the OPs of the threads aren’t actually letting every album digest. the daily “challenge” format they’ve chosen just doesn’t allow for it imo. i just wanted to bring some attention to the potential negative effects of this trend of threads, wasn’t trying to ruin anyone’s fun

You’re under the dumb assumption that people can’t digest music in a day or they don’t take repeated listens for writing these reviews. As I explained to a couple dudes on here, digesting music isn’t linear. Everybody absorbs these differently. We ALL took our time before wiring anything.

Well I did. I listened 2-3 times before posting my Common reviews and really took a moment to process what I was listening to and articulate it well.
I can’t speak for everyone doing this, but that’s how it was for me. I digested Common just fine and gained a whole new perspective of his art.
