ain’t nobody mad except the OPs of the threads i called out, and the usual ~8 or so users who’s heads i live in rent free
Tell me why it’s lame so I can tell you why you’re wrong Dead Pega-sus
I feel like @op has a point about not digesting a whole discography in a single week
But the threads themselves are fine. It’s a music forum

If you space em out to one per day, you listen 2-3 times to digest it and make up your mind about it and then give your thoughts, then what’s really the issue???
@door gotta be in middle school or highschool cuz I use to be talkin the same s*** on YouTube comments 😂😂😂

but that's not even the intention. these are discovery/rediscovery threads. just initial thoughts and reactions. it doesn't have to be anything more or less than that, right?
after this, the OPs go on and digest the material however they see fit
Tell me why it’s lame so I can tell you why you’re wrong Dead Pega-sus
that’s not how you have discussions lmfao already ready to tell me I’m wrong but i’ll still explain my point
you can’t digest an album in a day/off of one listen. give it three days after, especially while listening to a new album by that artist every day, and the average person will not remember anything about the first album they listened to. that’s just facts. these threads are glorified text versions of those annoying ass YouTube reaction videos, cuz that’s all it is. a reaction to their first listen.
I wouldn't say lame but it is getting a lil stale. I ain't hating tho
there have only been like 3 or 4 who have actually started there are way more stale topics we let rock haha

Exactly. It’s just discovering/rediscovering artists from the past and giving them their roses if they deserve it.

What if I told you I listen to the album 3 times a day and am musically inclined enough to explain my thoughts well after making beats for 11 years and listening to music religiously since 2006
Plus it’s E-40, I don’t need more than 24 hours to fully digest the project and give my thoughts
You are just hatin and idk why. Be mad about actual trash threads
@op you act like everybody has adhd lol u dont know how people digest an album lol

like yes, i'm not going to be able to a***yze and decipher every bar and punchline Common threw at me in one play. but i can sure as hell determine whether i enjoyed the s*** or not lmao

“It’s E-40, I don’t need 24 hours to fully digest the projects and give my thoughts”
so you’re implying that albums from one of the wordiest rappers ever take less time than usual to digest??? that’s idiotic and shows that you don’t care about the music. you really just want attention on an Internet forum for listening to a rapper that most people these days hate on… very sad bro i’m sorry you’re so attention deprived
@SlapFiend oh you been making beats for 11 years bro??? then why tf hasn’t Neph rapped over ANY of the beats you’ve sent, EVEN AFTER YOU PAID HIM????

“It gotta grow on me” is just copium in nerd speak.

I don’t think there’s an issue on a music forum at all, for the record.
But I think there is a point to be made about how much you can fully appreciate a body of work in a single day. And my thought isn’t just about these threads in particular. It’s about our attention spans, the times we’re living in, the streaming era, where things just come and go in a week or two. Can you really explore a discography in a week, or are you just making a cursory glance over it?
Like back in the day, you’d have to go and put effort into finding a place that had a particular album for sale. Then you’d go out of your way to purchase a physical piece of work with your hard earned money. And you’d play the s*** out of it, and it wouldn’t be out of rotation in just two weeks time because you’d have more of a connection to it. But now luckily we don’t have to do any of that, because for about half of what it cost for that cd, you have access to all of that artists albums ever. You no longer have to make the commitment of a purchase. But are you still making that same connection with that body of work?
It’s like how you retain more information writing your notes than typing them.
Again I’m not trying to downplay anyones threads, and I’ve seen some thoughtful posts in them. I just question how deep you can really get into an album in a single day.

lmaooo well nah i can't lie you can revisit things and have them "grow on" you but that doesn't nullify the initial reaction feel me? the threads are harmless and fun and dope lol

You’re right, the thread still has value and it’s definitely a good thing to see more music discussion on a music forum.

I believe the latter is the true intention of these threads. but everything you said is valid
