only 24bit works with a DAC. you can play the 16bit lossless just fine. I'm going to doubt that you have the headphones to notice the difference between 24bit and 16bit

    Damn ight thanks

I think it does work with surround speaker set ups - its just if youre using non-apple headphones its not gonna have the right codecs to play in Atmos rather than stereo

if youre playing it on a surround system that supports Atmos I think it will work. but you can try it

I've tried. It can't carry the atmos codec over airplay or auxillary so there's no way I can think of to play it. Best thing I can think of is wait till the new apple tv supports atmos music and then buy one of those.

    Is this automatically on?

You just have to wait till you're lucky enough to have it show up in the app. My iPad got it but my iPhone hasn't

so i would have to go to the EQ option right to change it?

Once you see the albums available in Apple Music, you got it. The only thing you would mess with in settings is turning on lossless. You don't need to turn anything on for Atmos

That would be great. Which sadly means I'll have to buy an adapter that supports whatever new Airplay standard it is but whatever. Probably cheaper than an apple tv lol

I heard it might just be over wifi w no changes necessary hardware wise
    but we'll see

Would highly suggest anyone test Atmos music on a real speaker setup if you ever get the chance. The s*** that's on tidal is mind blowing. I think it's a way bigger difference in listening experience than switching to lossless music.

Considering the differences between Airplay 1 and Airplay 2, I kinda sorta doubt that it's only software but I have no idea. smh I gotta keep paying tidal's outrageous prices for less music

I honestly can't tell a difference with looseless audio. Definitely noticeable with dolby atmos though, hopeully more ablums can get that support.

if youre listening on apple headphones you dont need to turn anything on in settings

if youre on other bluetooth headphones I think you need to set it to always in settings to get the version of it that works w other headphones

There's many different ones to suggest so that's tough. Personally I suggest the Beyerdynamic DT1990's. But you can go cheaper with the Sennheiser HD600's

The spatial part is part of the Atmos so I think it won’t

Spatial audio works on OG AirPods 2 as well?

for lossless? you basically need a DAC to make it worth it

for Atmos the AirPods Pro are the best other than the AirPods Max for it

its a little confusing to tell

it will DEFINITELY work to an extent but it might not be quite as encompassing as on the Pros/Max not 100% sure on it

I wouldn't say you need a DAC to make it worth it. First of all you need good headphones to make it worth it. You can have those and no DAC and that alone is worth it. Having the DAC just makes it even better.
