Last week we discussed why Freddie Kane is overrated.

This week is Vince Staples. While Freddie Gibbs is overrated, Vince Staples is honestly trash. These are the following reasons:

1. He has no rap intangibles.
2. While I admit he has a few good verses, it's hard to accept that as a solo artist he has talent. He comes off as a feature rapper: one who can have the best verse but never carry a song as the main or solo artist. He reminds me of gunplay except gunplay raps better
3. His delivery is incredibly bland
4. From a technical perspective, he does nothing special
5. No quotables at all

The last two reasons are the most important:
6. He's a gangsta rapper but it's hard to believe anything he says. Not because of his image but because of how he approaches his music. It seems like he never really lived that life when you hear him rap even though he kinda did. And since he isn't a spectacular rapper like Rick Ross or Ice Cube, it makes his music harder to get through

7. I said this before on KTT. Vince Staples makes music for Crips that went to college.

Vince is straight but he doesn't impress me a lot rapping wise.

He still made some good albums though.

Stolen Youth, Shyne Coldchain 2, Hell Can Wait, Summertime 06, Prima Donna, Big Fish Theory, and FM! all great projects. Outstanding feature verses on Hive, Ride Out, Wool, Rain, etc. One of the best flows rn. So no.
