Plus think about the OVO sweatshop workers

There’s probably more people that wrote our favorite Drake songs but they never came forward

    Hush money…

I feel like Wayne is probably the most shaky out of this top 10 because his most revered work (by most. The populous) would be his mixtape run

In real time no one was championing C1 and C2 as classics and C3 has aged pretty badly

    IMO

Everyone else on this list, their discography feels a bit more solid and “serious”

i obviously think classic albums play a big part in an all time list too as well, but my overarching point is that when someone's legacy is already set there shouldn't be any such thing as it somehow being tarnished if they fall off the horse and aren't able to capture their artistic peaks ever again/top their strongest albums

this literally only benefits artists' who have their career cut short due to death and other different factors, who knows what Biggie's discography would've looked like if he had stayed alive? he could've been releasing nothing but straight up garbage after RTD

Yeah well Dylan and Neil sucked s*** through most of the 80s but came back hard in the 90s so everybody forgave them. Unfortunately it does count toward the legacy but doesn't diminish previous achievements.

As far as I know neither Pac or Jay have reference tracks with entire verses recorded for them. Drake literally gave Quentin Miller a monthly salery to write for him.

Fair but Q wrote WITH him not for him

    It’s a huge difference. Drake had a reference…for Q’s reference 😂

I’m not here to save drake, but they were cheffing verses together. Like I said, Pac was rapping verses other people wrote and he admitted to that instance,

I’m sure Hov has gotten a reference here and there while making certain songs and albums, etc.

You think C3 a ‘classic’ or something lol

His mixtape run / features are why he’s held in this light

to say that the general public holds wayne's tapes in high regard when most of them aren't even on f***ing streaming, and then turning around and saying no one propped up any of his albums as actual classics (blatantly even glossing over the critical acclaim of those albums) is absolutely hilarious

    How old are you?

Seriously, C2 and C1 was not ‘poppin’ like that compared to his tape run

THAT is why he’s held in high regard, and rightfully so he was frying s*** but that’s not cap

Yeah i didn't hear a peep of Wayne between Drop It Like It's Hot when he was 12 years old and Dedication 2. Didn't believe my buddy when he told me Lil Wayne was blowing up again.

We need a thread for top 10 worst rappers instead, can someone make that

Like I ain’t ancient but I remember when D2 dropped and he was heating s*** up

His discography really isn’t that strong compared to the other 9 on the list IMO

Like his commercial peak was arguably when he was at his worst as a rapper for me
