Only reason I don’t include Big Boi is because there was a clear gap in skill between him and Andre pretty much they whole run other than maybe the first one

That and the fact that I believe most of the genius and uniqueness of their style came from Andre and Big Boi just kinda kept everything grounded (which is an important role for sure)

When I listen to an Outkast album I’m pretty much there for Andre tbh

The Love Below being 10 times better than Speakerboxxx solidified it for me

I’m from Jersey and I can say without a doubt the impact of C1, C2, D1, Suffix and a bunch of other tapes, feats, etc was felt long before D2 dropped

Before D2 dropped niggas was already comparing him to legends and taking his claim to be the “Best Rapper Alive” very seriously.

Maybe not for casuals or for stubborn old heads or New York niggas who refused to respect southern hip-hop but for the rest of us Wayne was on fire from C1 in 04 to No Ceilings in 09.

D2 was definitely the point when most casuals got involved which is cool but you can’t just dismiss everything he did prior to that.
