Just kinda curious about what everyone thinks of concerts/festivals.
I'm sure everyone loves them, but from your experience, what can concerts and festivals improve on if anything?
Do you think artist's have lost a bit of showmanship these days?
Do you think artists owe the crowd anything other than showing up and playing their set?
Can fans/venues do things better?
Have you noticed glaring differences between pre and post covid shows?
Concert security & readily available water
No, you get who you go to like how its always been
I have no idea what you mean here. You want them to do magic tricks and pat you on the head after they perform and do what they promised and what you paid for? I dont get it.
Refer to answer 1 for venues. As for fans, let a person through that is tryng to get somewhere or is visibly uncomfortable in a pit or crowd.

regarding point 3: think fan engagement, bringing out guests, on stage theatrics. changing up set list night to night (obvi not realistic but something imo should be done more, even minorly)

have you ever been to a concert where you had a seat though? not that you were sitting but like not GA only.
Lowkey kinda burnt out on festivals and big concerts as I’m getting older tbh
Smaller venue shows >>>

Yea Travis Scott was at hoco in 2016 but it turned into moshing s*** by his first song

yea i kinda aint big on that vibe either. i do think trav a bad example though lol. i think concerts with an assigned seat are pretty fire as long as aint no one getting up in your space
Free water. D*** testing kits.
Depends from artist to artist. Some new acts putting on great shows, some new acts phoning it in.
Define play. I think you do owe more to the crowd than showing up and lip syncing along to a backing track.
Absolutely. Shut your f***ing mouth if you at the front of the show and don't talk for half of the set. Venues can always do things better too, obviously it depends from venue to venue. Well positioned lockers. Try to limit bottleneck areas. Enough bar personnel.
Post COVID crowds been stinking the place up more in my experience.

Kenny and Kanye are two names that come to mind. GA was available but i just bought a seat and enjoyed both thoroughly. GA is for like highschoolers atp it feels

Oh ok i get that point a bit now. I thought you were gonna be one of them dudes that acts like artists just doing music isnt enough.
I agree especially if its higher price or bigger venue. But i dont think its needed all the time.
Main thing of what you listed tho i would to see more is feats at the venue for the specific songs, but I know its unrealistic with scheduling, time ratio (like why would i show up to someone elses show states away for only 40 secs of a perfronance type thing) and of course the complications of money. It would be nice tho in general.

Fan engagement is cool. I like it but if it's kept minimal I understand. I'd rather have the artists be theirselves than be someone they're not. Bringing out guests? No. Changing up the setlist night to night? No. I'm not seeing them every night. I'm seeing them once, when they're at a stop near me. I do respect the artists who switch it up though (looking at you Mr Springsteen, you old fart!!), but I don't and wouldn't expect it.
Concerts are dope. Watching an artist you f*** with create an atmosphere that’s completely them (Tyler and Travis do this the best from my own experience) and enjoying it with a bunch of people who will dance and sing along without giving a f*** is for real amazing
Say it with your chest

Still waiting for this out of pocket weirdo btw
imo crowds specifically at festivals need to f***ing chill with the "medic" s*** man. it makes everyone panic. if someone passes out next to you 1) if they have friends the friend should be lifting/trying to get them out the crowd 2) if they dont have friends near them its totally ass but you GOTTA just man up and assist the person out of the crowd. the flashing lights and screaming of medic makes the whole damn crowd paranoid
They should have bananas and electrolytes for all the people who might need some extra fuel to keep going at events. Maybe some comfy shoes. Croc rentals maybe? A bit chandelier is always a plus…hate it when fools get all up in space tho.. hahahah concerts are fun I just with there was like more set list action with the dj slots or something u know?
