Wikipedia says Utopia are putting it in theatres early 2022 so I’m guessing screenings will be pretty small scale
Although it also says HBO max got the streaming rights

Yeah bruh I'm not gonna lie I didn't watch any trailers or read any reviews. So I went in this not knowing what to expect and got blind sided by the gross out s***.
But I really do wanna say it is a great movie at the end of it all
a couple sitting next to me and my friend walked out halfway through the movie
this happened to me too lmaooo and then 2 more after that lmao

I feel like the first half of the movie is when you'll know if you're willing to sit through this s*** or not lmaoo but that third act is sooo fire to me.
And the soundtrack is hard too
ngl lower your expectations for this movie, it’s cool that it’s so unexpected but don’t think there’s anything deep that’s gonna hit you with this. cannes just wanted to shout out their own with the palme d’or
Definitely liked this just because of the kills, music, colors, and surface family story but I'm not too sure how deep it's really supposed to go. I know it's saying something about generational trauma. The car crash can be blamed on her father and it traumatized her and led to her developing a fetish for cars (like how some people become sexually deviant due to abuse or flawed early parenting). Then, in the end, she passes the same trauma along to her own child.
I saw a theory that the aggressive fan at the start actually raped her and impregnated her and she imagined that the car had impregnated her to cope since it was the only thing she really had love for, seeming like such a cold and detached person. Then all the "kills" were just her closing herself off and detaching from anything that reminded her of her rape. I can believe the rape part but her imagining all those kills as a sort of coping mechanism seems kind of off to me.
I dragged two of my friends out to see this and they were super disappointed. They just thought the "family is more than blood" message was all there was to it + they thought the s\*\*\*with car and serial killer stuff was meaningless and only tacked on for some gross-out body horror moments. Being impregnated by a car just seems like such an obvious cover for some greater metaphor but maybe it really is just being impregnated by a car after all. I feel like there has to be more to this but I haven't seen any real consensus. I see so many people talking about the shock but not too much about theories/what it all meant.
Lmao nah bruh that s*** was wild but I lowkey loved it. Honestly the jist of the story and theme is pretty easy to understand, unfortunately casuals are gonna walk away confused about the film.
One thing I will say tho is the whole having s***with a car premise kinda seems like it’s there for shock value, you could of just had her get pregnant by a man and the story would still play out the same.
But I do understand the whole theme of “finding love in something/someone that hurt you”

The car s*** is one of the most wtf things about the movie to me lmao
The s\*\*\* just woke up and got shorty's attention? Lmaoo how'd she get to the point where they were f\*\*\*in? How does s\*\*\*with a car while being inside of it work??
