Living in OC/LA area, working between 8pm and 12am, do ya'll have any idea about how much I could expect to make hourly? 🤔 Or any tips to maximize my time and value?

aight so basically you're gonna be making like $12 an hour the first week no matter what if you haven't done something like this before. from here it's on you to start to pick up on the smaller things like which places are making you wait 10 minutes before the food is done, which spots give you the most orders and what kind of pay on orders to hold out for
the general main rule of this thread we all abide by is "always get AT LEAST a dollar for every mile you drive". other than that, we all have different ways of doing it. @spacecwby is probably the best one to ask since he's around LA too i believe
I did a DoorDash vlog a while back:

i usually be going for $2 per mile tbh. also doordash pays you to sit around and wait for the food in California but you get that money every monday not every day you work
never dash in areas where you know you’re not gonna get tipped well because there’s no point

tryna hit another one of these
what dollar amounts do you usually take? at least on this day

I get 20-30/hr in Ohio, it can vary pretty heavy.
I recommend learning where all the rich people live and buy food, I’ve seen tips jump up to $30+ in some areas.
Also, you don’t have to accept any orders you don’t like. Your acceptance rate doesn’t matter. I try not to accept anything under $6.

after two total bullshit days where i averaged like $15 and $18, i got kind of blessed yesterday lol. i mostly just got 7’s and 8’s pretty fast then once the promo hit i was either doing around 10 per order or doubles where i’d get like 18
i had like two or three orders where i waited for 15 minutes and it still wasn’t close to ready so i said f*** it and dropped the order, plus my last order i ended up waiting for over 30 minutes in the lobby, so tbh it probably should have been like $240 in that timeframe

hell nah i wish
i just get paid for active time
so if im on an order and jts taking too long or if im stuck in traffic they’ll pay me more for my time
they pay me 15% more than the local minimum wage so if i spend more time active than i would’ve made with min wage + 15% then theyll just give me an adjustment pay that hits my account on monday

also wait do you not want the big orders?
do you only like the $7 and $8 ones?
edit nvm i read that wrong i thought you meant you averaged 15-18 per order
brought the food to the wrong house in a sketchy area last night & the guy knocked on his window and threatened to shoot me when he saw me taking a flash pic of his front door
i had to run to the street and explain myself
he let me get the food back and bring it to the right house thankfully
Just did a lil $8 McDonald’s order.
Address is weird and not sending me to the right location
calls the clients number
An old woman answers and is confused cuz she didn’t order any Uber eats
Can’t find the right address and both entrances to this complex have gate boxes so.......
