He’s been making music since like 2010

ok but to be fair, you gotta put in perspective how these guys pop out of nowhere. like the only music I've ever heard from bryson is trapsoul and post that, it's weird because he did pop outta nowhere.

This is also why chance wasn’t a plant.

People confuse having connections with being a plant

"People confuse having connections with being a plant"

for real. don't be mad someone had good connections that got them in. low key screams jealousy tbh

What about how bryson tiller popped up outta nowhere?

just cuz you pop up out of "nowhere" doesn't make you an industry plant lol. there are several artists who knocked it out the park with their debut album/first project and were super popular from the jump

Industry Plant: signed to a label but pretending not to be signed and the come up to be organic

Industry Pushed: getting a strong push from the label via playlists and radio - think Khalid

Industry Connected - family/connections in the industry - think Clairo

    3 different things
    industry plants are not common

yup. great example of industry plant is macklemore when he first came out

pushed this super independent organic image and aesthetic when in reality he was signed

    Travis isn't a plant

    I stand corrected then

I'm not saying it does, but isn't it weird when a random artist just suddenly gets hyped outta nowhere then suddenly they have 1 million to 30 million youtube video views in a month

He actually wasn’t signed when Don’t blew up

It blew up on SoundCloud partly because Drake and others shared it

It’s wild if someone from here really invented that and didn’t copyright it

Someone gon use that title for a movie Or some s*** one day. Lol think about it

Chance definitely had plant tendencies. He contiuously said he was independent but had a ton of streaming deals out there

it’s a unique situation for sure. He really was technically “independent” by definition though, and since there was no major label involved he cant be a plant

    Yep

taz was on KTT1 too so that s*** Wild it came full circle

But I can see a full fledged Hollywood comedy with that industry plant concept lol. Especially as ppl from our generation get into position to make those type movies over next decade

I think people have a problem with artists fabricated by a label rather than actual industry plants

    so co-signing a bit different.

Co-signing usually either means the artist who co-signed genuinely f***ed w it
Or the artist is connected to the co-signer via the label or via family or whatever

For example Keem blew up partly because he had co-signs from TDE and Kevin Durant and stuff

Co-signs can be a sign of the artist being a plant though but in Tillers case I’m pretty sure he just had a hit song

That being said it’s almost impossible to prove someone’s a plant because by nature a plant is hiding that they have backing
