last spring switching to online only sucked. still did well
but been back at school all year and have taken just about every method you can name. in person, virtual, asynchronous, blended, classes where half the students had to be online because they were quarantined/isolated for COVID, etc... and its all the same at this point. Helps that i genuinely like the material and am on campus so i can live somewhat of a normal but limited college life
also they're f***ing everyone with how tuition is being handled when the majority of classes are online
I don't know about taking classes but I can tell you that teaching online classes is way harder. I have no indication if the students are understanding what I'm saying or not. Also, it seems like people are less likely to ask question now then they were when classes were in person. I specifically dedicate some time to questions because I know people have difficulty understanding some of the s*** but no one ever asks. Then after class I get like 20 emails all asking the same thing.
Hmm I saw the opposite experience when I was still taking online classes. Students would barely ask questions during class in person but were more willing type their questions in the chat. Guess it was less awkward that way
yeah online school is great until you’re in calc 3 and hard physics classes !
I’m taking Calc three, fluid dynamics ect all you got to do is take your tests and exams to the online tutors
Online classes are generally gonna be perceived as less intensive than irl too just because of how easy it is to cheat
I think if they gave you the option to take ur classes online or in person, and you picked online, your degree would go down in value
Most colleges dont even care about standardized testing now after 1 year of it being online makes you wonder how many ppl got a 36 on the ACT last year
Our exams are monitored as s***. Have to give a room tour before every exam + have to use my phone as camera and webcam + screensharing.

At my university its up to the professor. Some of my exams I have to have a camera on the whole time with Lockdown browser and theres just no way to cheat. In other classes i can literally have another tab open

Yeah some friends at my uni who do different majors don’t have proctoring at all either, they be calling me during their exams
Proctorio is already annoying enough, that s***? It's next level surveillance
i heard them type of software's are impeding on privacy even when tests aren't being administered. you're under surveillance rn

dpends on the class
i started doing university online in 2018 and it made my schedule alot more flexible so it was p goated
dudes in here taking econ and sociology talkin bout how much they love online school
Fr lmao doing online school while being in STEM is ass
Please give me back attendance
Class but ngl, for the easier subjects online is better since I just take the code and I go studying something more meaningful or just I just leave to mind my business.
Also online make me spend less time for traveling and money for gasoline obv.
Speaking about exams, last year many of them turned into oral cause COVID in my faculty and it is WAY more difficult for scientific subjects so I'm in for the standard quiz.
all depends the person. some teach themselves very well, so they can simply use the lecture videos and teach themselves, attend the live lectures when they want to. they probably prefer online. i’m the opposite though. i lose attention online way too quickly, and don’t engage as much online. i prefer being in person, i just feel the instruction comes off more naturally.
