I think you could argue it underachieved a bit (I think it was fine considering it’s just a throwaway people begged him to drop) since it didn’t stay at 1 after the first week, but calling it a flop is a bit too much imo

No I get it, I think the song would’ve definitely done better if we were all allowed to go outside but for now it was lazy, bland & created noise for 1 week then dissipated

Hopefully Aubrey comes correct with the next single

There is nothing about it that's an underachievement. Songs like Heartless hit #1 and fell out of the top 10 the following week and didn't get back into the top 10 until the album it was on dropped and even at that, it ended up spending a total of 2 weeks in the top 10. Highest in the Room debuted at #1, spent two more weeks in the top 10 and only got back into the top 10 when a remix was released. All of this with bundles.

Toosie Slide debuted at #1 and dropped back to #2 only because of the lead Abel had on radio. It's spent 3 weeks in the top 2 and will spent it's fourth week at #3 only because a new song will be debuting at #1. That is by no means an underperformance.

2018 spoiled a lot of you Drake fans because now you have unrealistic expectations for anything he puts out. It's ridiculous.

This isn't even a lead single, yet you're calling a #1 debut an underperformance. Only so-called Drake fans say s*** like this. Yuck.

There is no argument to be made about it's performance because it's performed incredibly well. Only someone who has unrealistic expectations for anything Drake does will think otherwise. Many people can't even manage a top 10 debut, talk less of a #1 debut (without bundles, no less). This is right after Life Is Good debuted at #2 and stayed there for 8 straight weeks.

People who call themselves fans would know this and wouldn't join in on the unrealistic expectations other people who aren't as informed set for Drake's songs. Anybody who thinks a song that spends it's first 4 weeks in the top 3 after debuting at #1 is an underperformance is an idiot. Pure and simple.
