    Stoicism is not good

Why not? I’m thinking of becoming a stoic.

  • Man doesn't understand stoicism

You’re misunderstanding tho, it’s not masculinity itself that’s toxic. Toxic masculinity is the culture of promoting those things you talk about, usually in the name of a twisted idea of masculinity

I can agree with that ofc, but I still don't like the term.

    Stoicism is not good

Let me clarify that by stoicism I don't mean suppression of ones emotions, which is a common misconception. Man's gotta cry sometimes.

What I mean is not allowing your desires, fears, etc. stop you from doing what is right.

I actually cry a lot more since I started practicing stoicism doing the negative visualization thing.

I suppose it can be good in terms of not being ruled by emotions but so many ppl just let their stoicism rule them

It’s absolutely real and I’m not a looney fringe left everything-is-offensive guy either

If you actually look at the problems in every community regardless of race or economics, the problematic people are 90% hyper “masculine” men

I don’t think toxic femininity has been responsible for a massive number of rapes assaults and murders unlike toxic masculinity

    How do you quantify problems?

This some all lives matter type reasoning. Vast majority of assaults, murder, mass shootings etc (I.e. violence in general) is committed by men

    good point

toxic masculinity is definitely a thing, and it's a serious social issue, but distaste for toxic masculinity should not be confused with distaste for masculinity, as it tends to often be. there are lots of aspects of masculinity which have been perverted or twisted because of societal developments, just as there has been with its inverse of femininity.
One thing that i do not see talked about as often as it should be is that toxic masculinity is not limited to men. Masculinity and Femininity are abstract positional ideas which are adapted by people's identities; aspects of biology aren't inherently linked to separate societal displays of personality beyond foundational developments. Women can be masculine, or possess more "masculine" personalities; thus, women can adopt traits of toxic masculinity. Inversely, men can be feminine, and thus men can adopt traits of toxic femininity.
