Because he's made enough money to not have to worry about being relevant again.
Yall keep bringing that s*** up with him, Luda, and Nelly but if yall made the type of money they made at that peak, f*** I look like "trying" to be relevant again?
Ludacris has that "Fast and Furious" money now
That's a blatant lie...fuck the producers. It's the rappers that make beats pop. If people only liked beats then dubstep and EDM would still be dominating.
People always say this and it couldn’t be further from the truth. Any hot producer right now could drop an instrumental solo album with no vocals and no one would listen to it or check for it, at least not the casuals. And vice versa, any popping rapper right now could drop an acapella album with no production on it and not a single person would listen to it.
The production lays the foundation and the artist elevates it to new heights and makes people wanna return to it and listen to it.

There’s people on this site that admit they listen to rap for the beats more than the lyrics. Why else do you think every lyrical rapper except kendrick gets trashed but the niggas with trap beats all get praised
Lot of Mustard beats are saved by the artists honestly
Remember when all you heard on the radio were f***in mustard beats 🤮
IMO, a good rapper and a producer combo are like a tag team.
They both add on to each other and they combine to make the most out of their talents.

thats because dubstep had horrible beats. That was a WOAT era in music.
There are soooo many songs with generic ass beats that popped bc of how catchy the hook is or a quoteable in the song
The writer and the producer and the vocalist are all important and can all make or break a song, obviously there are songs where one is clearly the reason why the song is hot but i dont like to generalize because there arent many songs im actively playing where I only like the beat

I have nostalgia for that era of music tbh, good times
UK dubstep and what is known in the mainstream as dubstep are different genres entirely in sound.

Mustard most overrated producer oat

Yeah, that Hellcats and Trackhawks song is everywhere right now and there’s nothing really that exceptional or noteworthy about the beat, but it’s serviceable enough and Durk’s delivery and presence over it makes people wanna listen to it
Ehh
I'd say hook is the most important. Could have the most basic beat ever but if it's catchy it will become a hit
