Why did you ignore my last post?
! My bad dude. Give me a sec I must’ve missed it.
You’re defending TERFS and anybody who intellectually disagrees with the s***vs gender viewpoint, you’re defending them from people who call them transphobic. It seems to me that you’re choosing a side here.
What if a trans user comes to this thread and writes “fuck you OP I’m trans and the people that you’re defending are definitely transphobic because even though they treat us with ‘dignity’ they don’t see us for what we really are and they things they promote have real life consequences that are dangerous to us because it affects the way society perceives us”
What would you reply?
Yeah you’re right. I don’t think that TERF’s are necessarily transphobic because they’re just trying to reinforce their status of women BUT transpeople are more vulnerable and I’d have to side with them.
this is how many times i think about gender v. s***everyday in real life: 0.00
idk why it’s been made such a huge deal online, especially on this site. like i literally don’t think about it enough to have fathomed making a thread. in the year 2020

I also don’t think nobody is anything-phobic because of their intellectual beliefs as soon as they’re not directly harming these people, and I would just choose a side only if I feel that I have to.
For instance, if someone that I know and love goes on Twitter expressing her TERF viewpoints on trans women in sports and then gets fired from her job, I would definitely take her side, even though I may offend the trans community (this actually happened to someone and JK Rowling came up to her defense and received a lot of backlash).
No but the thread title is stupid and so are you
You think it’s stupid to think that trans people deserve to live dignified and healthy lives? Yikes
That being said, the gender vs s***viewpoint is a convoluted mess and just because someone doesn’t understand it or like it, doesn’t mean they’re transphobic.
Discuss.
All because someone doesn't understand it is one thing as long as they are willing to learn.
Someone not liking it is definitely transphobic

I would too. I think the purity tests people try to put others through is only going to make everyone the bad guy.

l disagree. For example, I can agree that gender and s***are different but also think that they’re related and the separation of the two creates a viewpoint detached from reality and therefor not like it.
I actually think this separation hurts binary trans people and there’s a lot of trans people who don’t like non-binaries for this reason.
